Predalien

Post by Slacker » 09 May 2017, 01:10

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): My suggestion is to somehow allow the Alien players to have the ability to pull off the predator mask and attempt to face hug the Yautja. Obviously this should be a very, very, hard and challenge task as Yautja as a whole are expert hunters. But, with this risk comes great reward of potentially getting a Predalien, which would be made arguably one of the most powerful aliens, risk vs reward.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): This could potentially be a wild card for the xenomorphs, as if they manage to somehow get the mask off, much less impregnate the Yauja. Will give them a very powerful xenomorph breed (If in the right hands), which can turn the tide for the xenomorphs against the colonial marines. This can also add role-play scenario for the possibility that if the Liaison officer find out about this one specific rare breed that is causing havoc, and reports it back to Weyland would cause the corporation to send in a squad, which their main goal is to capture the Predalien alive for further research.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Firstly as previously stated, if the xenomorphs somehow manage to take off the mask, then capture the Yautja impregnating it without the predator killing them or activating it's wrist self destruct sequence. Would allow for the process to begin. Secondly, once the approximate time of birth comes, the admin can select the Predalien for a suitable selection of candidate, or do a white listing process as we already have for the Yautjai. Once that candidate is selected, the player spawns as a special breed of larva that can only evolve to Predalien. Thirdly, once the player actually does evolve, he can bring havoc upon the colonial marines.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): As far as how it could possibly work I stated it before in my previous answer, as roughly as I can guess BYONDS functions, but in this section I have a few suggestions to balance this Predalien to prevent it being an overpowered killing machine. Firstly, the time for the larva to hatch can be double or triple the usual time, the time for the larva to evolve can have the same concept, except that at this stage the Predalien is extremely weak. Thus, giving the colonial marines an opportunity to kill it before it evolves to kill them. Secondly, for its possible abilities to have a high plasma cost, thus requiring the player to think tactically and not waist opportunities.

The Devs have implemented Predaliens before, during a test. I assume they're busy polishing up with what they have before implementing.

Time to evolution is hardly a problem since the clock is normally ran on the xeno's watch in terms of when fighting is going to happen. Additionally if a predator gets hugged, marines likely wouldn't be around to kill the early offspring. If a predalien is to be officially added to the server there will have to be many more considerations.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....
