USCMHC Distress Team
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Instead of it usually being a random Merc team, or instead a PMC team loyal to the CL, in the event of the ship failing, instead, better geared Marines are sent in. They are suited with higher tier Marine armor only with a different name on it, (M5 Marine Armor?)
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It actually gives the Marines a distress team to hope for, sure, PMCs are nice and all, maybe even mercs, but PMCs are loyal to the CL and can go hostile towards Marines. Same thing as Space Pirates, just another threat on the ship in case of Xeno invasion.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Add a new Distress Team, Elite Marines, armed with M4RA's, HPR's, And a Smartgunner (I chose this over SADAR because on the Almayer and Sniper because of FF possibilities). SPC taking the role of their Officer. In the event of a failing Officer, they listen to the Commander, XO only if there is no official Commander and no SO's. It'd just be a 5 man team of better equipped Marines actually suited for the threat on the ship.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I don't imagine it'd be too hard to set up a new ERT team, it'd function the same way as the other Distress Teams.

Meh. Idea of ERTs in my opinion is not to "We can win now!". It's to spice up the round, and have pros and cons. This is just a straight up buffed super ERT 100% loyal.

Re: USCMHC Distress Team
We already have an ERT that is 100% an enemy so why not one that is 100% loyal? (besides the fact that this suggestion is going to get denied)TheMaskedMan2 wrote:Meh. In my opinion I don't enjoy XRT and believe it should be restricted to admins sending it. If you refer to IBs. Their goal is simply "capture the bridge". They don't NEED to murderbone. They just always choose that path.ty55101 wrote:We already have an ERT that is 100% an enemy so why not one that is 100% loyal? (besides the fact that this suggestion is going to get denied)

Because this affects the balance of the Game in a positive way for the Marines, and in a negative way for the Xenos. In addition to changing the purpose of an ERT, such availability would be unbalanced and unnecessary.ty55101 wrote:We already have an ERT that is 100% an enemy so why not one that is 100% loyal? Re: USCMHC Distress Team
PMCs can change the balance in favor of the marines as well. I thought the purpose of the ERT was to give marines assistance/a chance in the final stages of their defense, am I mistaken?NescauComToddy wrote:Because this affects the balance of the Game in a positive way for the Marines, and in a negative way for the Xenos. If you want to say how unnecessary it is, any commander spawned ERTs are unnecessary because all they do is add a random element to the game and if an ERT is really needed to progress the game then an admin can spawn it, is there a reason why it is more unnecessary than a normal ERT?

Re: USCMHC Distress Team
*PMCs can not be compared to the description of your suggestion, For they can be simply defeated in mere minutes, unlike a squad with heavy armor and dangerous weapons that can decapitate a person with a hit.ty55101 wrote:PMCs can change the balance in favor of the marines as well. *Yes, you are partially wrong. The Main purpose is to elevate the climax of the round.
*Because it simply is not compatible with the theme of ERT's, which would be to add fun to the round. Providing victory in the hands of the Marines would not be something pleasant, much less entertaining.
In Short, that would be an advantage, not an ERT. Try to specify your suggestion in a more appropriate way.

Re: USCMHC Distress Team
My entire thought process revolved around the thought that a distress beacon would merit aide, yea, sometimes Iron Bear's or Mercenaries can respond to them first, but if USCMHC is notified of the threat onboard of the Almayer, wouldn't it make sense for them to send some help towards the ship? I get that the game is more Xeno based because that's a bigger 'fun factor.' But, it's not like I said give them all B18 and Miniguns, it's just a better armed group of Marines sent in and knowing of the threat onboard the ship.
Wouldn't that make some sense?

Re: USCMHC Distress Team
Maybe not elite badass specops, but just regular marines from another ship. Marines equipped exactly the same as standards with a smartgunner.?
