New Rule.
Suggestion Title: New Rule, no more self proclaimed nicknames.
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): People have some stupid nicknames that just sound ridiculous.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): +5 Intelligence Points to everyone. We all look less retarded to the new viewer.
Try and picture yourself calling someone "Medibot" Or "Survivor." On a casual basis. No... Just no.

ehhh, i agree its not something everyone should be doing but everyone interacts with each other in different ways, i genuinely dont understand why the whole thing bothers you guys so much, people have nicknames even in real life all the time (at what point did "Dick" become the shortened version of richard?)

Dick has always been a shortened version of Richard.

RE: New Rule.
It doesn't bother me that much I just find it odd to have on ya id your nickname , surely your nickname would be used only by people you know not by strangers who have just read your id ?

While I don't think the IDs should be on the nametags, I think most people put them there because your initial Spawn name is the name that shows up in the text box when you speak. And unfortunately changing the ID name makes the [ID name here] (as [Spawn name here]) message that clogs up the message box anytime the person does something is interacted with.
Colonial Marines where allowed to customize their armor to a point, and in Aliens vs Predator 2(2001 PC game, probably the best Aliens game to date next to Alien Isolation.) the Marine Player Character Andrew 'Frosty' Harrison had his nickname painted across the chest of his armor.

I don't think we should straight-up disallow them. They make it easier to refer to Marines rather than using their name, and I think (when done correctly) add some personality. I remember players with nicknames a lot more than those without.
That being said, some of the current nicknames are a little too extreme. It wouldn't hurt to make some type of criteria thread for them.
