Reinstate the second ear slot for humans. let them listen to two radio channels at a time and respond to one as it used to work.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It would allow squads who have been disbanded during a mission to communicate and instill a sense of comradeship and have an avenue for events that would not have otherwise happened
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
The reason we should have two ear slots is that in the event of a squad getting wiped out or loosing almost all its members and being integrated into another squad the marines who have survived can keep the headpiece that they had originally and put the new squad headset on their main ear.
While this doesn't seem to be a big deal I have personally had a few situations where only me and one other alpha marine survived and had a great time RPing the transition to a different squad. we became brothers bonded over the loss of the team and it seems a shame that this wont be able to happen as you can no longer have two earpieces. (after alpha had fallen we had split into two different squads and only found out about each other after calling out on the alpha headset while also having our new squad headset on to hear commands from the SL)
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
revert the change or perhaps be able to take out the encryption from one headset and put it in another. only two can ever be used on a headset to avoid people taking all 4 squads for reasons.

Even though I really don't see the reason why the second earslot was removed, I feel like the devs won't repeal one of their changes completely so soon.
+1 for posterity, just because having a damn pen on your ear is so useful, and I cannot see any benefit to having a single earslot instead of two.
