Buff Sentry Gun Aim

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): As it stands sentry guns are in a rough place, they're only half as dangerous as you think they are. Right now aliens can just trick the firing AI on the sentry gun by hiding behind girders or jungle walls and forcing it to fire until it runs out of ammo, or simply outrun the bullets of the damn thing, a young runner going back and forth can outrun a sentry gun's firing line even if it's on burst.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It'll increase the usefulness of a tool that's supposed to replace or support marine's guarding a location.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): I'm not sure how the firing AI works for the sentry gun, or if this would be a delay issue, or firing speed change, but if it could at all be improved that'd make them much more useful.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): *detailed imagery of how it's done*

The sentry is already virtually always fully accurate, the issue is when Xenos use edge cases like hiding behind corners

It would be far too hard to fix as a quick fix, please just make sure Xenos have nothing convenient to hide behind to exploit this

I watched a young runner bait out sentry gun shots from 5 tiles away and not get hit once by just running back and forth and hoped there'd be some solution to that, but I understand.

to let sentries hit a determined runner youd have to either give their bullets no travel time or program them with the ability to lead targets perfectly

as it stands theyre still much better shots than any marine

I just want the sentry camping to stop, its such a piss-poor tactic and it needs to stop, everyone who does it has no honor and needs to be insta-gibbed. fite me

you do realise sentry guns are used for defending an area right? as in, defence? not moving? holding an area?

anyway, +1 to OP, the runner dancing whilst running sideways past it and not getting hit at all meme needs to stop

You do realize increasing accuracy won't do a thing, right?

It nearly always hits, the problem is two things

1. Them firing at xenos they clearly can't hit, thus wasting ammo, which is not a accuracy issue but AI Stupidity issue

2. Runners and Hunters being too fast for them to hit, which is the issue of the castes being too fast and sentry being too slow

This really should be buff bullet speed (AND ITS OWN ONLY), since thats the only way i can see it being able to hit those fast ass xenos for now that doesn't involve breaking the ever loving hell out of AI
