Rage-Art! [Alien]

Post by Crab_Spider » 19 Jun 2017, 09:55

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Xenomorphs that are near death in semi critical gain more damage

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Final fights are a bit more climatic and easier to bear, an upside in a downside, a bit of an incentive to stop running like a little bitch.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Aliens within the red zone gain higher slash damage, but slowed health regeneration. Recovery and weeds have reduced effect, and tackle chance is reduced.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

-1. In my opinion, raising your slash damage and lowering health regen will not push xenos into fighting more aka "stop running like a little bitch". I mean, when I'm low health as xeno, either I can flee to regen and I do it, either I know I'm fucked so I do a last-ditch struggle. As a consequence, raising slash damage will just buff xenos by allowing them to survive more easily these last-ditch struggles.

So basically, increase armor to a considerable level?

Well, increasing armor is also a nice buff for xenos. Imagine a full life crusher charging a marine barricade. The crusher is somehow too greedy and charge a spot where there are lots of marines. He's focused, his health drop, he tries to flee but dies. Now, you increase his armor to a considerable level when he is low health, maybe that will allow him to escape just by adding a bit of tankiness, a few less bullets and you don't go in crit.

I think it's quite hard to find something to push xenos into fighting with low health without buffing them in other situations.

Fighting on low health is a death sentence. As you said, when you fighting on low health, you're making a last ditch efot to decap someone, so this might be a good idea. Buff the aliens when low on health with more damage, less tackle, more attack speed and crit chance (viciously mauling) so at least they can kill someone before dying. At the spots xenos are, they have no way to kill someone without being instantly blown up by everyone (outside of ravagers), so at least suicide charges are decent now, and you don't just die without being able to do anything. I just thought about this one, make it so the slashing setting "Only when damaged" also gives a more attack speed, damage and crit chance for good queens to manage it in a proper manner And bad queens to kill all aliens planetside

Is that a joke?

sounds like it could trick some people into over extending and getting themselves killed, but sensible players will remember that retreating to heal is the better option.

so for alien perspective, i am not sure if this will change gameplay habits. dead xenos dont serve the hive.

for marine perspective, they may just become slightly saltier when, in the course of defending themselves, they make an enemy stronger

regardless i dont think it sounds appropriate to be applied to all aliens universally. crushers and ravagers perhaps, as they are supposed to be leading the charge

Generally all runner castes should have it. Those are the ones that deal the damage

Also, +1 to this because I forgot to do it. Don't really think xenos are in need of more killing power, but I want to fuck around with high risk high reward shit.

Denied.

Only one xeno class would really do this and the devs aren't going to add that.
