make sandbags cheaper than metal and/or make them easier to fill

Post by misto » 21 Jun 2017, 20:28

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): make sandbags cheaper to buy from cargo than metal and/or make them easier to fill

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): encourages sandbags to get any amount of use besides the starting stacks given in the prep rooms

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): now i know what youre saying - "misto, arent sandbags like a stronger barricade type than metal? why should they be cheaper than metal?"

the answer is twofold:

1) theyre just some fucking empty cloth sacks, how are they more expensive than heavy sheets of sturdy metal? sandbags should be dirt fucking cheap and we all know it.

2) the TIME INVESTMENT of filling up sandbags with your little toy shovel is excessive

both of these factors combine to make metal barricades the objectively superior choice

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): change da price and/or require less clicks to fill sacks. put a little timer above my head if you have to but let me fill like 5 to 10 sacks at a time

Sure. Might as well do it since it takes 16 sheets of metal to make a girder
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I agree with this. You have to spend some time to fill those 100 barricades, considering limited amount of actions in tick, and someone need to cover you all this time. Also, they can't be fixed if damaged, so, yeah, they should be cheap, they are just bags.

Filling sacks in bunches of 5 would be fantastic. Quintuple the time required to fill the bags if you want, less clicks are good. +1

In addition to more sandbags, perhaps the crate should contain another entrenching tool? Two marines can fill the sandbags at twice the speed of a single one.
