Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): here is my idea for a new xeno caste, the snake xeno. its a snake

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): a new option for xenos to deploy in warfare

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

inspired by the EXTREMELY CANON and ABSOLUTELY LORE FRIENDLY KENNER ALIENS TOY LINE

now, youll see that the article says it spits acid, and thats kind of the job of the spitter class ingame, so lets give it a different power

poison!

the snake xeno's job will be to slither up to high-value targets such as squad leaders(or any isolated marine, if they cant find a valuable target), bite 'em, and quickly scoot away. this will demand antitoxin from the squad medic and encourage more paranoia

other abilities:

they should share the runner's hide ability to go under tables and stuff

they should have a bonus to getting into and out of vents much more quickly than other classes

their grab could be a special grab that squeezes a target to death boa constrictor style, unless you think thats TOO STRONG

they could retain the larva's ability to squeeze under doors, unless you think thats TOO STRONG

they could share the hunter's invis abilitiy, unless you think thats TOO STRONG. perhaps it could be a tweaked invis, like it requires you to be completely stationary rather than being able to still move slowly, like hunters can while invis

limitations:

being a snake means no arms to scratch with! only tail attack and bites for your melee option.

should be slower than the runner, of course!

the cooldown on their poison glands and of course how much damage the poison does over time is the critical balancing issue that would need to be experimented with and tweaked

without limbs, it is difficult to tackle and push people over, so their tackle should be bad

edit: NEW LIMITATION: with no limbs, this creature will probably be unable to drag people, or would be rather bad and slow at it.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): this is a specialized harrassment/assassination agent xeno, not a main battle warrior, and so should be either tier 1 or tier 2. perhaps it could be a sister class to the sentinel, both tier 1s that can proceed into spitter and then to boiler

Personally I don't think another xeno caste is currently needed in the game. And please use capital letters.

Honestly, even if it doesn't look that good, he did make a concept that's viable, to be fair.

That being said, eh, we're pretty solid with what the Xenos have right now. I like the concept of the grab being a constrictor, because it'd be pretty useful for assassination, but the Xenos don't need any more castes at the moment.

Maybe in the future? -1.

Sadly they added spitting to Prae's so there is now four spitters from mid-range to long range spit at the marines. Plus without hands you can't drag so you'd need to swallow to steal prey for implantation with is slow enough as it is. Best I can see they need is a pure defense shielding creature that only does the bullet richoet effect not another spitter.

Even if this was to get accepted, the slipping under doors as a matured xeno should never be a thing. It'd be a cool caste to see but they'd need to be balanced out a lot because you made them a bit busted here. I don't think we'll be seeing any new castes for a while anyways and there's more urgent stuff to update right now. Adding a new caste just means more problems.

Like bolter said, this is a reasonable concept for the future. Right now though, it'd just make xenos be flooded with snakes and they don't really need another cast when the current castes are still trying to get into their best roles. *COUGH*FIX THE PRAETORIAN*COUGH*

chuckachu, i know lots of aliens spit already, thats why i proposed giving this one boa constrictor grab and slow acting poison bite, not spitting.

i suggested this mostly because i have noticed that xenos lack variety and interesting systems. the humans have as many different types as there are gun loadouts and squad/ship roles, as well as plenty of gadgets to play with. xenos are comparatively simplistic and i feel this probably plays a significant role in so many players loving to play marine best. well, that and better rp and being the good guys
