Look out behind you baldie (marking targets suggestion)

Post by Recounted » 30 Jun 2017, 16:59

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):basically add in a spotting feature for the marines. Squad leaders and specs can mark the big bad xenos. When a xeno gets mark by the squad lead through the binocs the gunship may have a more accurate firing mission hitting the marked targets. The sniper could paint a hostile that the marines cannot see and they would show up on thier huds

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):muh immersion

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):I can say it could help with the sniper/scouts contributing to the support role of the team by marking targets. And squad leads by getting the firing missions to be accurate a bit more

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):coding sounds possible

actually a decent idea for getting queens to fuck off from the front lines

I don't want to ever see a queen screech and just run up to a single guy and slash his head off and boogie away, or even worse, pick up a hugger, screech, and plant it on a guy then run

it feels like I'm watching driveby pranks more than actual aliens doing alien things

In a way..except there could be some sort of cooldown or something like it to prevent the tryhards from breaking thier mouse when they spot the queen

What if every 10 minutes there would be a poll for marines which xeno to remove? You could only vote on the caste and one random xeno would be removed from that caste. It is balanced and requires skill because marines have to scout which type of xenos are alive. E.g. If most of them vote on hivelord and there is no hivelord than no xenos are removed.

How the fuck does that relate to my suggestion?

So basically you want there to be a randomised instakill for the Marines to use on the Xenos, that they could use to easily remove important roles like T3s or just be used to slowly whittle down the Xenos without ever needing to step outside the FoB.

    Yeah, how about no.

    Yeah, how about no.
Isn't it what all these make orbital or air strikes quicker or the markers invisible suggestions are all about? My quoted suggestion is so stupid I couldn't expect anyone to take it seriously.

    Denied.

This isn't a MMO and makes no sense as to why the selected xeno would take more damage for pointing it out.
