Universal Recorders Do Not Function

Bug Description: Universal Recorders do not record anything from nearby sources.


Steps to reproduce:
1. Get universal recorder.
2. Turn it on.
3. Say words.
4. Push the playback button or print a transcript.
5. Observe that it has recorded nothing.

Why not just remove translation from it? The "universal" part is not needed for CM.

Pretty sure this is a confirmed bug, it's been around for ages.

As a CL it's pretty neat to be able to record transcripts of conversations with survivors, likewise MPs might use it for evidence gathering. So I think it makes a lot of sense to fix! This seems to be how tape recorders work unless it's been changed from the original SS13:

It has the "message_mode" which can be something like "robot" or "alientalk". It also has "message_langs" which can be something like "common" or "xenocommon".

So I think you might be able to drop messages that are "alientalk" (or whatever hivemind is), and then replace messages of the "xenocommon" language (or whatever ayys use) with Something hisses terrifyingly. After all, where would this setting be, without a few crackly tapes that end in a sickening alien attack...?

If I'm correct, they DO kinda work, only in your active hand, though.. And only YOU.

It won't record any nearby mobs at all, only the one holding it.
