m44 holsters in prep
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):allow m44 holsters to be obtained by normal marines in prep. no longer need to be laughed at by req for requesting it
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):for too long poor baldies have been laughed at for there in all honesty bad choices for arment, but i can say you do feel like some sort of badass wielding two revolvers at the same time
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):the m44 holster becomes dispensable via the marnine equipment vendors. i do know you can just put the actual guns on yourself but the holsters hold extra ammo which are necessary for sidearms
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):cake joke.jpg

Re: m44 holsters in prep
Seeing as when it comes to pistols your probably better off keeping your gun in your backpack and taking an ammo belt or just not taking the pistol from the beginning I don't see the harm in making them available to everyone. The only holster that really needs to be limited is the M39 one because its actually pretty strong.
+1 Because why not let some baldies make a poor choice.

Re: m44 holsters in prep
I would like to see this implemented.
Alternatively if common issue of SMG Holsters is non-viable then I suggest that roles that are intended to wield SMG's be given access to a SMG holster, such as Smartgunners and Specialists.

44 holster wasn't meant to be standard issue. It's a special issue item.

Think everyone gets that, just people are hoping to make that no longer the case.SecretStamos (Joshuu) wrote:44 holster wasn't meant to be standard issue. It's a special issue item.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."

Re: m44 holsters in prep
When I play RO I never end up giving these out unless we run out of M39 holsters for smartgunners. They really aren't anything special since anyone can ask for one from the RO, I give them away for free when people ask for them because of how no one ever bothers.

Re: m44 holsters in prep
The 44 and M39 holsters are filling their roles. They are unorthodox items that can be obtained through the RO.darkwahn wrote:Think everyone gets that, just people are hoping to make that no longer the case.
They were designed to be issued through the RO, and wouldn't have made it in otherwise.
In short, this keeps them relatively scarce, through still obtainable. This keeps them fairly interesting, and, due to their relative unorthodixity, keeps the military RP intact. Many of the odder items in the game don't make sense to be standard issue, through we feel are still within the realm of possibility that an unit might possess in limited numbers. If you find yourself wanting a unique piece of equipment, you're going to have to go a little out of your way to obtain it.
That is the justification for how they are implemented, and it is important to stay true to that.

Re: m44 holsters in prep
there is what, 10 .44 revolvers to a vending machine in prep and 8 machines in each prep? 80 revolvers per squad. they might run out if everyone took two or three. and yet holsters for it are to be treated like a rarity?

Re: m44 holsters in prep
The holsters are not essential to use the .44. They are an extension of the gun that allow it to be used more effectively as a support role weapon by specialists, medics and engineers, or anyone else who wishes to carry it. Plenty of people manage to use the weapon without the holster, though others go through the effort to obtain one from the RO.misto wrote:there is what, 10 .44 revolvers to a vending machine in prep and 8 machines in each prep? 80 revolvers per squad. they might run out if everyone took two or three. and yet holsters for it are to be treated like a rarity?
When I pitched and added .44 holsters with N, I did so under the pretense they would be regulated in issuance for the above reasons. If you feel the need to have one, obtain it from the RO.
