Reviewing new sprites

Post by Jackie Estegado » 22 Jul 2017, 08:42

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): As I am sure many of the spriters realized that as you get new sprites implemented many of them are hated by the playerbase. So I propose we make a new sub-forum where players can give their opinions on new sprites before being put in.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Saves a lot of hassle of back and forthing sprite changes. No more need for eye-bleach every time a new large sprite update comes out.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): -

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): -
If you ever wonder when did I really start hating incompetent people read Crab Spider's signature... I was that CMO.

Opinions? Off to the Gulag to you, opinions are not welcome in this Totalitarian society. On a serious note, I'm sure the sprite team would love to showcase their work beforehand, +1.

To be honest, this would avoid a lot of mistakes. Like the monkey POs, and yes, the powerloader that most loathed. If the community can look at a design pre-release and judge it, it'd smooth out the new additions much more easily. +1.

Not only would this wildly slow down production, it also doesnt actually serve as quality control. Design by committee has never worked well, and this isnt open development. I for one stand by the work the other staff and myself make. If you take issues with specific sprites, I would invite you to make a bug/suggestion, so that we can decide if that suggestion is something we want to implement.

It doesnt really fit with the development model we currently have, and may conflict with our internal goals on whatever addition we are working on.

Locking this.
