Butter's list of Predator ideas

Let's just get this out of the way.
One, yes, I know these are in development, this is just my list of stuff I find that I think would be cool to add to them, maybe the few Xeno hopes.

Two, these are MY ideas. I don't even expect these to be added I just want to throw these out there on the 5% chance they might be used.

Three I haven't watched the movies, I just been reading the AVP wiki and I think I have my info straight.

1. Thermal vision is a must, like the Xenos, but only when the helmet is on ( toggled? )

2. They spawn on a small station of their own, maybe on the same map as the Sulaco, ( similar to the wizard) and choose their own loadout, and get their own orders ( e.g. Get 3 Xeno trophy kills or 2 human trophy kills).

3. Skull extraction powah to pull people's skull right out their heads or corpses ( maybe gib?) Can be slapped on a special predator belt?

4. Helmet. Can only be worn by preds because the skull making would be different, also the helmet can shrug off facehuggers like they just are fleas. ( Only doing that because A.) Only preds can wear them, B.) There should be only one pred ).

5. Plasma cutter... I image there can only be a handheld version of this because coding this as armor and a weapon would be super duper hard. Only preds can use it as a human would take one look at it and go "dafuq" and it is rechargeable maybe by itself or with plasma tanks on the station. And make do some awesome ( maybe a little op) but a shitty fire rate.

6. All the armor and maybe the weapons shouldn't be able to be melted by acid from aliens, unless it was from a Super Corrosive acid, and it would still take some time.

7. Give them space ninja invisible powah, I know that Xenos have thermal vision, but maybe lower they translucence by 50% so they have some stealth points against Xenos. But it has a big cooldown

8. The staff of shocks ( Skyrim reference? Maybe ) Give them a one handed staff that is a combo of a stunprod and a stick with a spike at the end, making a lethal weapon against humans and Xenos. With a stun and stabby mode. While in lethal mode it is like a sharp harmbaton but you can duel wield it for more attack power but less defense.

9. Energy shield, give them a toggleable energy shield that can block spit with impunity but is stressed under melee combat with let's say a warrior.

10. Body armor, ( Includes boots and gloves) give them a body armor that is immune to pounce ( because it would suck if the ONLY Predator was killed by a runner spamming pounce), give them boots that give them running speed of a warrior, and the gloves give them a bonus 15 points of damage in unarmed combat. And the body armor can take 3 stun gun shots before the Predator starts taking stun damage.

11. I dunno about the little computer on their wrist because I image that would take some iconing skills, but it would be controlled with the tabs in the right side of the screen anywho so don't really care, just would be cool view.

And on a side note it would be cool if the Predators could speak both Human tongue and Xeno with the help of their helmets. So they could side with both sides if they want but, siding with Xenos would be un lore friendly.

They are not. They might have been. But they aren't at this time.


Now that this is really out of the way, i'd like to point out some things.


Predators are beasts in terms of combat that is for sure, but in a gameplay perspective it wouldn't be as good just having a single extremely OP predator. It would be OP, but maybe not in the way you describe here.

There are many creatures larger than preds, one of the most obvious being the tier 3 xenomorph castes. The traits to survival here are their superior technology, superior biology, and combat experience (AKA player robustness with the weapons given to them ... Reason being why this should be selected carefully or whitelisted.)

The plasma caster* .. Could be done in a way similar to the way ninja stars work already, just use a power but it will cost energy and would be fairly damaging, which is why a long cooldown would be required.

The most basic weapons should be meltable ... But disarming a predator in the first place should be extremely difficult. With the wristblades being a toggable weapon maybe similar to how they did the arm cannon code thingy on archangel.

Electric Staff- No. Shoo.

Shield- Not really necesary ... Just another gadget, but i don't image it becoming a thing unless we're just adding a ton of shit because we can


Rest of the stuff, meh, already talked about a lot ... I don't feel like we should mention this at all since it was SUPPOSED to be a fucking secret until literally nobody would shut up about it once a single person found out about it. It's just been so horribly overhyped inbetween these periods, and people will have their own opinions and ideas about this before we can do anything at all about it.

It doesn't matter when it comes out if you know that it will. Patience.

Closed and moved. We have a lot of ideas, yet we have a lot suggestion ideas. Stop asking for predators.
