My Idea For a New Gamemode

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): http://gyazo.com/36639f011b8a56fa0ce35fd018bb3af6 I suggested this ages ago as what the conversion should go to but now if it was a game mode I think it could work.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Adding a new game mode with different aspects of gameplay.

This is a neat idea, i just imagine marines spitting up to find some parts to repair and start to slowly die, maybe once all the parts are found and etc and Sulaco is repaired, they can try to leave and suddenly, xenos attack them to prevent them from leaving or try and board them, if marines wipe out the aliens and manage to repair the Sulaco, it be major victory, if they escaped however, minor or draw, since aliens are not dead but they runned away, aliens victory is obviously either wipe out marines or infect Sulaco when it leaves

I like this because I've never SEEN SS13 gameplay on a planet before... I think this would be interesting

BTW, will the parts be random spawned or can they be maded? because i can see the problem of aliens trying to camp those parts...

Hoping random so people can't just memorise the locations each round it is played.

Its not really a planet, just all or most of space tiles are replaced with snow tiles...everything else remained the same

Seems feasible if you think of the Sulaco as just one big escape pod that can only be "called" once the players manage to fix certain parts.

+1 from me if we could do it, sounds fun. It could be even cooler if the Sulaco has some limited supplies, forcing the marines to gather additional medical supplies and ammo.

Yeah that is what i'm aiming.

Limited supplies and having to be resourceful.

Mother of nearly impossible things...

I can see us eventually doing this.

However, it might be very difficult to implement anytime soon unfortunatly. But, I'd like to keep this in the works. Maybe once we are in Beta.

I know it may be hard but i mainly suggested it as we only have one working game mode and another in the works which is the PMC game mode so i thought it might be nice to have this as a third option if anyone has spare time, that is all.

If it could be added that would be great but i understand if it can't be.

To be honest, i am all for such game modes, trying to find supplies,parts and all that, although i prefer winter lands sometimes, any is ok(everyone would die from cold anyway)

Well any ground map should be fine as it doesn't really matter what type of environment they have.

5 minutes in, marines are geared up and etc with aliens along, now marines may or may not have time limit and have to literaly get all the parts and etc, time limit could cause tension and all that...

Sadly i believe a time limit wouldn't work just due to some players being incompetent and some being very new to ss13 so it would probably just cause everyone to be angry which is not what i am aiming for.. Also remember armor and weapons will be on limited supply.What i hope happens is that as the sulaco has crashed weapons and bits of ammo and parts of torn out rooms are found throughout the map so that players will have to scavenge as well as look for the missing sulaco parts.With regards to the title unknown i like it.

I think the time limit, might be that, the atmosphere is at the bare MINIMUM for humans, so they need masks when off the ship, but have a limited O2 supply.

First one is to escape the planet

After thinink more about it, the current objective has no sense.
They crash landed on the planet near the ground station which is inhabited by xenomorphs. The planet has toxic atmosphere and supplies are low.

Now, why do they want to get to the orbit? They already have low oxygen supplies, so it is as same as staying on the ground. The only possible solution would be that they can't send the signal from the planet due to heavy ion storms that are passing nearby, or the telecommunication relay is floating somewhere in the orib, so they have to send the message from there. Then they will have just enough supplies for ERT to come and rescue them.

I'm also personally against the low oxygen idea, as it creates problems when marines are facehugged and lose their breath mask.

Perhaps the crash(or the xenomorphs) damaged the reactor in the nearby facility, and a meltdown is imminent?
