Making a rule against rushing survivors

Post by MrJJJ » 08 May 2015, 08:08

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Making it that the survivors wont get rushed

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): http://gyazo.com/9654c154042978318b4bd61d923f249d This needs to stop, barely 10 minutes into the round (6-8 minutes or so in the round) this guy got attacked by a queen, which spam tackled him to chapel from medbay, this is annoying as fuck, he absolutley had no chance to run off because the injuries survivors start with cant even outrun a queen, he could not even get a weapon, but since this is not against the rules, aliens think they all can just do it, making all survivors that spawn in a place they cant get out or which cant get anything to protect themself from aliens, or even the ones that have weapons, unable to literaly DO ANYTHING, they just stuck in nest, waiting for stupid huggers to infect them

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): We seriously have survivors get killed too early, ok they have info on aliens and can reveal it..but what? i barely seen marines chances to live or destroy aliens increase from that, i seen countless of times when we found survivors, to get still destroyed

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Make it a rule and enforce it, or something

+1 plus also they should fix the spawns as i dont know if this still happens a survivor once spawned on top of me as a drone and well this was in maint and it would've ended up with me dead or him captured as my internet sucks and makes me lag so i got him

If you have good survivors, they could get a gun early on
As for wounds, prosthetic limbs help, they only need tools and wires

But yea, rushing at the start is a bit annoying

Most people get caught because they wander out in the open when drones are weeding. Protip: Expect to get caught, it's part of the game.

The only problem with saying "Prosthetic limbs" is that you are basically saying if you want to survive as a survivor get prosthetic limbs or die by xenos, which i think is unfair due to many players having normal limbs.

Hmm. It seems someone is just upset at a bad round. I do suggest that survivors are marked as certain entities that do not show up on alien thermo vision (if this is even possible to program). Survivors should be more sneeki breeki if they get caught then that is too bad you are some spandex guy running around in the nip not some graceful deity.

In where I am upset?
I seen countless rounds of survivors getting barely to even move before drones catch them out of nowhere, and survivors HAVE TO move outside to just gather something, sitting in 1 room with nothing and naked with no guns or even a melee weapon is something barely anyone will do, there is also no justification for drones to destroy survivors, not for even info they hold which they don't know
(Was once in vacant office, placed a lot of tables, marines arrived and never saw me, 20 minutes into round, queen came and started to try and get in, I killed myself with a gun, survivors life is tough as fuck man...)

saying someone is upset is not an insult it literally means to disturb emotionally. You finding the round ridiculous means that you were upset at the round. I shouldn't have said bad though. Anyhows, I agree with you. There should be something implemented to increase survivor longevity. I would say something passive rather than some dig bick gun or ability etc.

Last time I played survivor I died in the first 10 seconds because a xeno found me and decided that I was going to be their food.

A good solution would be to make it so that the survivors spawn in a random department with an ID that grants access to that department. They could then be more useful to the marines because their ID has access to the department and computers n' shit; the survivors also won't be stuck behind an access locked room plus it makes sense that they'd have an ID since they /did/ work on the Nostromo.

On the flip side of things, if you don't like being in the position of a survivor... don't be a survivor, it's an optional role, not a forced position.

The best advice I can give a Survivor? Hide in a locker for 5 Minutes rush EVA then steal Metal and a tool box. Make Wall girder FORT north of the shuttles

There is also break into the armoury and get gear from sex, then lock the armoury while you are inside.

Anyone back to the point, this is a serious issue..., as in it happens every round which takes the player who is trying to rp as said survivor out of the game at the beginning of the round..
