Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
For a queen to issue a kill order against a marine or group of marines, it should have to be specifically authorized and be situational. The Aliens' main goal is to procreate, NOT to slaughter!
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Improve realism, a better gameplay experience for both teams, a better experience in general for marines joining the station during a xeno raid on the Sulaco.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
See above
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

If queen says to kill, its because if needed. She knows that means "less childrens",but situations are sitations. Queen allowing kill just for fun? that is another story. Thats related to the player.

A queen that issues non-required kill orders is just killing her host, and thus, will have a smaller army. The commander and the queen are the strategists, and if the queen wants to throw away resources, let her, it's her loss.

Yea, going to say no on this. The queen needs to have the authority to allow people killed. If she wants to prioritize minimizing resistance of procreation, that's her prerogative.

Realism? Right ...
Ahem
This is a xenomorph. Part of it's anatomy include incredibly strong clawed hands, a razor sharp fucking spear tail and an inner mouth with enough strength to punch through reinforced steel. It does not give a shit who you are. If you encounter it you will die one way or another. Wether it's infecting or killing ... It's up to the hive itself and the queen foremost if there is one. Removing their right to kill would not make sense .. It would make sense for them to use it when it matters however.

I am not talking about taking away their right to kill, I'm talking about the Queen simply saying "Kill all Marines on sight no matter the circumstances" when the situation does not warrant it.Felkvir wrote:]Removing their right to kill would not make sense .. Re: Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
Why the queen in first place would do it? She is just ruining her sisters, and limitating procreation without a point, thing an alien queen wouldn't do.
If she says "kill the humans" instead of "infect them" there MUST be a reason, otherwise she wouldnt authorize it.

Yet I see them authorize it all the time without reason.

Well,I dont. Also,as I said, the queen is just "killing" her race doing that.

Re: Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
There is regulation .. But i don't see the point of outright disallowing 'general' kill orders. If they are vague like you mention then it's the queen's problem.. We can't fix skill or experience.

Then perhaps more regulation is needed or it needs to be better enforced.

Ehm.
I understand your point apart from the players' different perspective on you.
Your point is that you want the alien queen to have a reason to give a slaughter genocide, correct?
I do understand there are pros and cons to this but... Like what Felkvir says... Otherwise.. Do you have a rebuttal?

Re: Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
A queen already has to have a reason to call a kill order. If they don't they're a bad queen, but it's not exactly breaking the rules. Putting in regulation would be counterinuitive, as it would piss off the Good Queens who know have to be watching for another regulation and really would not stop bad queens.

Re: Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
ACtually, we are working on a new "kill prevention" system.
Basically, if there is not a queen:
Any aliens can kill
If there IS a queen:
Harm intent becomes LOCKED. Queen will be able to unlock harm intent for all aliens, or specific aliens
Queen will also be able to remotely punish those who go against the will of the hive (her will).
This stuff will "slowly" be added, in minor alien updates over the next few weeks.

...with all the respect you guys deserve, most of the time there is noone of you online. What about that? When the queen is fucking with the aliens she doesnt like? Yes,she will be banned, but the victim's round will be ruined, and he'll most likely have to write a report.

yeah, OR more commonly queen gets disconnected and we run out of huggers, we really need to switch to lethal in that case.Felkvir wrote: But, what about the incompetent queens then?

Locking harm has its issues (maybe helped by time locking?), but remote punishing is a swell idea. I accept the fact that the queen could be a total tyrant, she's the boss. Within limits though.

Re: Disallowing General Kill Orders By Queen
Why would the queen controlling harm be an issue?
Aliens shouldn't be killing without her direct consent.
