Necro as fuck but I still think this is a valid suggestions. My largest issue with the game are the damn weed sprites as it makes me dislike playing as a Alien and dislike going into hives. Its just such a eye sore in comparison.

A point to consider is that it will screw over hunter's abilities to hide in weeds. You have a decent chance of being overlooked while on weeds, but on a floor tile it's much easier to see the hunter.

The strength in Hunter's cloaking is the surprise in doing that. If the Marines are unaware of you doing so you can surprise one of them, however the moment someone gets a whiff of a cloaked Alien (likely from someone else being caught) then that whole strategy goes out the window.

I think there was a cloak sprite change done on /tg/ to make stealthing more viable on the new weed sprites however.

You'd be surprised at the number of times you can fool marines by being cloaked and not moving. It's certainly more than once. Especially if you have multiple different squads, it's less... in your face if you just hear about it over the radio. Note that this would also affect predators because they use a similar style of cloaking to hunters (Although it's so much superior it probably wouldn't be the main consideration here)

Hunters don't need to hide on weeds though. I've hidden on the corners of buildings and had and entire squad literally walk past me until one tried to push through me. Some how made it out alive.

But yes, why has this change not gone through yet? Going through the posts replies its seems that an overwhelming majority favor solid looking resin floors over what we have now

Last time I brought it up forever ago I was told that ""something"" was being planned, yet it seems those plans have yet to materialise.

My only real desire is to see these newer sprites used, even if only until these future plans are implemented.

I just really hate our weed sprites, they are ugly as sin and it's hard to discern items that may be on the tile, they clash with every other resin object and the node/purple sack looks even more out of place.

+1 Sadly this probably wont get implemented because they would pull the B.S "Copying" excuse. But I bet the devs could make one better then that though.

This still needs to happen. Current weed sprites are pretty ugly +1

Is this still going? I see a lot of arguing and +1s but it looks like it was not decided......... (+1 :D I love those floors and that's part of the reason I got into this game) Please........no more weeds I want to see resin......

I would LOVE THIS. Would be much easier to smash 'em down instead of trying to click the skinny ass weeds. I dunno if anyone else has this issue, but I do xD
