Elevators Or Ladders

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Elevators that takes you from one Z-Level to another Z-Level on Sulaco or Ground Map... And a Ground Map COULD have a elevator to Research Facility that Marines should not investigate. Take 1st Resident Evil movie as an example... There's an elevator that takes them to Research Facility. Then... They'll meet the Alien Hive... The Fun Begins.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Drama... Fun... Transportation... Expansion... Fun.. Drama...

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Put it in Maintenance or infront of the Entrance to the Research Facility.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Mapping... Perhaps, Absynth would like it and Joshuu can sprite it.

Why not both? Ladders would be somewhere in high-level access maintenance while general people uses Elevators.. It's suppose to be scary.

I've seen the elevators work on other servers the harder part of the code from what I've seen is the elevators themselves. Moving them from floor to floor, though stairs and ladders work just fine, because it's a simple zLevel change. :P But definitely would love to see the idea here!

Alright guys, as a former admin of Unbound Travels, the NSS Phoenix (a map that currently still uses THREE levels) is somewhat of a disaster. First and foremost, one of the biggest problems is transporting things that can not be carried on your person. For instance, mechs couldn't use stairwells or ladders. We created elevators in the hope that they would resolve the issue, however, the elevators caused issues all on their own. While in essence they worked, they would randomly cause people on that general tile space to die. This problem is probably very fixable, but it is a problem. I recommend digging through UT's code to take their elevator code instead of starting from scratch if you do take this idea up.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

It would be nice because it would mean you could have engineering and all the machinery for the Sulaco at the bottom of the ship along with the launch shuttle and you could get to both places via two lifts one which is in by the Mp office and one behind the briefing shutters on new Sulaco. ( Something like this would be really cool to have :D)

Lifeweb has a working elevator, and you can pull people trough Z levels, the fucking server uses over 5 z levels.

We could easily place a SMES on each level, but linking all of them, to the SM would be the problem.

I suggest contacting Baystation's devs. Last I checked, they figured out multi-Z power and atmos.

IDK. I know, there are a few stations that use multi-Z level power and atmos, but they all did it themselves. I know for a fact, one station I can't remember, has all the Z-layers seperate on atmos and power. I was an engineer fixing a breach that was a staircase down, and no atmos was leaking from the upper level, only the lower with the breach
