Separate briefings

Post by Kinrany » 23 May 2015, 20:34

Summary: It would make more sense to brief squad leaders and logistics first, and then let each squad leader brief their squad. It requires changing the eastern part of Sulaco.

Benefits: Currently briefing takes too much time because of all the discipline violations. Breaking up a single briefing into five would dramatically increase productivity, since it's exponentially harder to organize a larger group of people.

Details:
  • Huge armory right next to sleepers instead of five separate armories. Default marine access is enough.
  • Machineguns, grenades, engineering and medical equipment, etc. are stored in their own rooms. These require increased access level.
  • Four squad-locked briefing rooms. Encryption keys are еhere, too.

Preparation procedure:
  1. Commander briefs squad leaders and LOs. Marines dress up.
  2. LOs distribute marines. SLs dress up.
  3. SLs brief their squads.

We have a room to do that in, its north of logistics and directly west of secure storage.

I think this is a good Idea and they have a place for it but most people don't use that because... Well I'm not actually sure why, I think it'd be a good Idea maybe the next time I'm the commander.

It should happen automatically, without having to tell every single marine what they're supposed to do. The whole "gear up -> get access -> go to squad briefing" process should be as natural as "get access -> gear up -> go to briefing" is now, otherwise everyone would get confused. That's why we need to actually change the map.

If we were being realistic, or at the very least sensible, it would be Spawn into squad > Briefing > Additional Access if needed > Gear up.

Everyone round marines gear up like they are going to war, and it could just be the Commander announcing shore leave is open. OOC we know that's not true, but IC the marines don't know why they were woken up until the Commander/Squad Leads say so.

As for LOs... anyone who thinks they are chain of command needs a smack upside the head. Logistics is in charge of keeping squads manned and equipped. Aside from that an LO has no power over a marine, anyone who argues otherwise is a clusterfuck in my personal opinion.

Your English did not make sense.

Except that, people are retarded.*

However, I do agree with having separate briefing.
