Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
How about just painting the Squad stripe just color black.
It's just say I'm in the Echo, we do real RP, we wear Black :P.

I actually have a couple squad stripe colors that never made it in. We could use one of those.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
I can see this squad being used very well
Echo could be just a usual standard whitelisted squad, have the usual normal gear but its whitelisted and is generally for veterans

Joshua takes my stage light. You have the microphone. At least, Joshuu and I are serious about having a Echo Squad.

I never really looked at this because LAZY, But +1 White-listed and apply with above average Standards. I would do this, because I walk into the Armory see 5+ Random guns on the Ground and a Dead Body, and a bloodstained marine claiming he was testing his weapon.

+1
Had this idea actually driving home from work today as well..
Limit the size to a proper 5 Man squad though, no more than that.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
Putting it up for note, the colour of gray or white from the Marine Standard gloves (without a squad) may work for the Echo squad equipment, unless that was what was already tried.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
Although I probably wouldn't fit the robustness for Echo squad, I WOULD like a squad that actually cares about what they find, instead of ignoring weeds, resin, and everything else concerning aliens.

Echo'd probably need their own private sleepers and job, since assigning them ingame could be a bit difficult.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
How about making them one solid color, almost like the HiT squad but not. Make them a solid dark grey, with light white stripes, or something similar.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
One of the main issues I see with Echo is Squad size though, even if everyone in the squad is not a complete idiot, I find it's difficult to actually fight and operate in a tidy manner with squad sizes of 5+.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
I say we have two different squads, ECHO and FOXTROT (cause foxtrot sounds cool, don't you lie). ECHO will be filled up until max capacity (5 or 6 people) then FOXTROT will be filled until max capacity (5 or 6 people). ECHO could be a dark grey color with white stripes, and FOXTROT could be like a brownish color with red stripes. Both would function the same, but both be filled off the same Whitelist.Fire and Glory wrote:One of the main issues I see with Echo is Squad size though, even if everyone in the squad is not a complete idiot, I find it's difficult to actually fight in a tidy manner with squad sizes of 5+.
To reiterate, it goes ECHO > FOXTROT > Any free slots in either. The squads aren't supposed to be something just anyone can get into, but I'm not opposed to having two just incase more want to be in ECHO in a round.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
That actually makes sense, but the only really bad thing that might come from this is that echo or foxtrot squads are the only ones that actually do anything becuase they are too busy being really dumb.

No for having 2 specials squads.
One is enough, it's no longer special if half the server is apart of it.
Also dilutes the separates the marines TOO much.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
The perhaps we can keep it exclusive, make it a "first come first server" sort of thing where there's only one squad with around 5 slots in it per game. Whoever gets to it first is in it for that round.Pink wrote:No for having 2 specials squads.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
The goal with Echo Squad would be a whitelisted squad which would most likely only contain five people for the whitelist to enter the squad. Adding Foxtrot would ruin the entirety of it, and the "first come, first serve" idea really repels that, given that the indications of Echo Squad would most likely make them a forward operating force - essentially a scout or reconnaissance squad, if not another direct combat unit. The fact that the squad is indicated more heavily on roleplaying,Lostmixup wrote: The perhaps we can keep it exclusive, make it a "first come first server" sort of thing where there's only one squad with around 5 slots in it per game. Would indicate that people from Banter Bravo, for instance, would be able to just hop right into Echo without a thought, making it another "murrdurr" Marine squad. I can honestly still see Echo Squad happening - the premise of constant roleplay on Colonial has been done recently, and it provided a decent experience for those involved. It's only problem was that it was most likely going to lead to a mutiny if aliens didn't attack, because from the perspective of a grunt, you don't know about the availability of reinforcements or authentication codes.UnknownMurder wrote:who wants to take this game and RP seriously in a Squad.

They stated "first come, first serve", which would imply them suggesting that the squad isn't whitelisted.

Re: Alpha Suggestion / New Whitelisted Squad: Echo
Well I'm pretty sure it would be the first whitelisted players to come get to be on Echo for the round, while all the rest go with the normal squads.

First come first server whitelisted members into the squad. It's assumed at this point that the squad is whitelisted.Fire and Glory wrote:Well I'm pretty sure it would be the first whitelisted players to come get to be on Echo for the round, while all the rest go with the normal squads.
