Remove Mega Helmets
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): This includes to removing, Bio-Hood, Hardsuit Helmet, Bomb-Hood... Seriously, Marines should NOT taking stuff from Nostromo to use for their own good purposes. If I was a Marine in real life, I wouldn't take a Bio-Hood because it limits my visibility or hardsuit helmet because they're so god damn heavy. A player complained about this how 4-5 Marines took down a Queen whom was not prepared for the outcome. Fun fact, this Queen was about to donate and is loyal to the server.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Decreases report and chances of metagaming. We get these kind of messages every day, yet some of us were able to do nothing about it as they already encountered facehuggers and word gets around quickly because via headset.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Remove it.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Use a Mapping Tool.

I said something about this before.
Marine Logic: 'Space Crabs we dont know much about but they Latch on to faces? Better grab a Hardsuit helmet with even attaching it to a suit.'

-1 Will change to a +1 if you code in the 1 hugger per tile thing, or the helmet falling and not breaking (But still protective) thing, the other helmets, just limit them to one hit like it should.

+1, as a person who plays aliums a lot, it is really hard seeing 50 people armed with M41As and hardsuit helmets. I can't even get close to one of them, and if I do, my two huggers don't do jack. Then I die because he point blanks me.

This has been a suggestion and argument for ages now, it always get's +1 by essentially everyone... yet it's never been done?
You don't even need to remove them completely from the actual map... just make it so they dont block huggers.

Another idea is that when a marine grabs s Biohood/EVA helmet it adds on more disadvantages. Such as Biohoods reducing visibility greatly and need the full suit same with hardsuit helmets can only be worn with the complete set so people can still set up the engine and solars. If they decide to wobble around in a full suit wait until they encounter friendly fire or killing xenos.

Re: Remove Mega Helmets
+1, This would add more horror to the experience as a marine
-1, The standard helmet is not only very easy to loose, but it vanishes 9/10 when you get face hugged, if the huggers chance to strip a helmet was decreased and the hard suits removed, id say this would improve the game 10 fold and stop the marines from going full master chief as soon as a squad mate gets face hugged.

As far as I am aware, since we'll have no need for them in the alpha, hardsuits are disappearing. Not sure about Biosuits though.

I say make the standard marine helmets only get destroyed after falling off a few times instead of just once.Kovain1812 wrote:+1, This would add more horror to the experience as a marine

Re: Remove Mega Helmets
Well I'm neutral on this. The main real reason why hardsuit helmets still exist is because of the singularity being required to be set up. But as alpha approaches it kind of seems like a moot point. I would say to solve the issue is that make the helmet protect against say 2-3 huggers and then switch to a helmet (the same helm) but has a hole in it. As if the facehugger melted through the helmet, then it doesn't offer any protection (like say a berret) against huggers. Some people use the helms for welding and stuff, which could still be there but the thing will just not protect you against the huggers. I mean it would be say way worse if the hardsuit helms protected against bullets. If they did then you wouldn't die to the occasional idiot firing at the head when you have a hardsuit helm on. Or hell force the player to wear the hardsuit itself before putting on the helm thus forcing them to be easily killed by friendly fire and other shit if they want to use it.

Re: Remove Mega Helmets
I looked into this. The bio hood is currently 10 health, which means it only takes one hugger to rip it off (and the hugger dies, so the 2nd one will latch on to the player).
The radiation hood had 20 health, but I've reduced it to 10 to keep it in line with the bio hood.
