Grounded Marines
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
If marines get pounced or fall over, they drop all of there items, and the aliens can do anything at that point, So I would suggest that if a marine falls over or gets pounced, that they could not drop all of the items in there hands and be able to fight back with a knife or pistol, but you would not be able to use heavy arms like SMG's or Rifles, Only the Pistol which you can shoot, and the knife so you can stab, and if you are grounded and they aren't in your hands, you can pull them out of ONLY your suit storage and you boot. And also for the Aliens that would clam this is OP, make it so its a random chance of it happening, like 40 or 50%
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It would make it so Marines have a chance if a Alien pounces you and if you are alone, or if someone threw a grenade in a nest, and you all fall over and you can fight back.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
That you would hold onto your items and be able to grab them ONLY if they are a pistol or Knife from you boot and suit storage, and that you can still attack while grounded.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

Re: Grounded Marines
Care to explain more are you saying that if they fall over with a knife or pistol those do not drop or you keep whatever is in your hand?
I'm sorry but -1 until you go into more detail.

He just means that when you get downed you do not drop your objects, still holding them, maybe adding a little chance to drop them?

*Cough* 33% chance to keep them while down would be good *Cough*MrGabol100 wrote:He just means that when you get downed you do not drop your objects, still holding them, maybe adding a little chance to drop them?

Re: Grounded Marines
Im leaning more to 33 chance of dropping 'em, how do you even lose grip of a double handed weapon because some fucker, what do the aliens even do? Tackle you like rugby? Push you? Whatever, in the movies while being dragged, they were usually shooting.Mr. Penguin wrote: *Cough* 33% chance to keep them while down would be good *Cough*

Re: Grounded Marines
I'd give this a plus one if it was only used in good spirit. Problem I have with it is I want to see those dirty, fucking filthy, insubordinate marines that run off alone, get pounced and mauled, faceraped, and never heard from again.
Anyway, in the true spirit of being one of those dirty, fucking filthy, insubordinate marines.... I'll give this idea a +1

I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Re: Grounded Marines
I think the chance of dropping them should be proportionate to your overall injury level, and the injury level of your hands/arms.
Above 50% of max health, no chance of dropping shit; +2% chance to drop per % below 50% of max health; this also applies separately to each arm/hand, using the highest value between all of these for a given hand slot.
For example if damage to your left arm is at 60%, but your overall health is at 30%, you would have a 20% chance of dropping shit in your left hand on knockdown.
If your overall health was at 10%, you would have an 80% chance of dropping shit in both hands on knockdown, since we're using the highest value between damage to body parts that are specific to the hand slot, and the overall damage: ((100% - 10% - 50%) * 2) > ((100% - 60% - 50%) * 2)

Depending on which kind of guns... Yet... When I'm about to get pounced, I quickly put my gun in the suit storage.

Re: Grounded Marines
how about an attachable sling? like the way you attach a knife or flashlight to your M41A. just add duct tape in the armories - use wire cutters on a marine backpack and duct tape the strap onto your weapon - sacrificing your backpack but gaining a gun you will not drop when pounced and not crit?

But we need some limitation so it doesn't turn into:
Alien Runner (352) has pounced at John Doe!
Alien Runner (352) tackles John Doe to the ground!
John Doe slashes at Alien Runner (352) with the combat knife!
Alien Runner (352) lets out a waning screech, blood bubbling from its maw.

Hmmm....well if the person is not in crit or at least above 70% health they have a chance of taking a weapon out or keep hold of the weapon but not wielded or something
100% health could have a 80% chance of taking a knife or gun out and about 40% chance of dropping the weapon completely.
Just opinions here.
