Akimbo dual wield for smg's and pistols

CM Version (alpha or Regular):

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): the ability to dual wield pistols and smg's

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):a new weapon

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): you use a smg or pistol on another of the same type. and it creates a double verson of the weapon that you must wield in bolth hands to use. doubles the fire rate. decreases accuracy

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

add the ability to combine two single handed guns.

I would decrease fire rate but it would shoot two bullets instead of one.

Edit:

Also there is no such thing as accuracy (I think) since you click where you want to shoot and aim and shoot.

Okay then decrease accuracy by 15%.

Maybe disable targeting?

Don't really like this because it just isn't done in any armed force.

There is an accuracy component though I think in that bullets can randomly miss; if dual wielding guns were added the chance of missing and recoil should both increase sharply.

Yes, we do have an accuracy code that gives a percentile chance for bullets to miss, that decreases with distance decreases. I'd see no issue with it, but the issue i see would be making it reload, since you'd need to reload 2 weapons at once. Hmm, i'll stay neutral on it.

well with reloading you could just switch it off of the dual wield and reload it using two mags instead of one. dual weild being like the m4a1 rifles dual wield where you have to have it take up two slots to fire.

Dual welding guns IRL life is VERY. VERY UNPRATICAL.

Seriiusly, using guns akimbo is only on a Jonh Woo movies.

But this ia a game anyway, I suggest making it VERY hard to hit (like 60% harder) to simulate inacuracy, othewise -1

Yeah, it should have absolutely prohibitive accuracy penalties and recoil.

On the flipside, if you do manage to get the kill shot on any alien, the game should acknowledge it by saying "X puts Y down akimbostyle like a total fucking badass." in giant bold red text; the aliens would also see this. All of them.

Actually, you can do it fairly easily if you fire both bullets at once. Then its pretty much just one handing a pistol, which is also doable. At least, with a small one. The service pistol seems to be low caliber enough that dual wielding them wouldn't be a problem. Hell, you already fire it one handed.

-1... The reload for a dual wield would work just like a M41A than for coding and whats the point of having just one than. EVERYONE would go to this because they want to be some dual wielding bad ass or something. Dual wielding with the normal SMGs and pistols are already a thing if you know how to hotkey. And in addition the reload for dual wielding is simple. Put one gun on your armor and reload it and keep the other one in the other hand. Not to mention if it was not being held with two hands at all times than you could just hold four SMGs at once in your hands only.

This literally has no use other then pretending to be Max Payne then realizing you got face hugged while shooting.

On a more serious note... i see no actual use for this besides turning Cm into CoD, also i imagine this would be hard to code due to you wanting to fire both guns at the same time... which are in different hands.

I'm actually.. Not opposed to this. If it kills accuracy, it actually might be a cool way of suppressing a target in a pinch.

I've dual-wielded revolvers before in real life. It was definitely a bit harder to hit the target, but I managed to shoot a hole through a tiny coin (a US penny). Whether that was luck or just me putting enough shots down range in a short time isn't really clear to me.

Reloading was tough. And it would be in SS13 too.
