Obligatory suit sensors

Post by Sligneris » 20 Jul 2015, 08:14

CM Version: Preferably both.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Marines should be given outfits that have suit sensors permanently enabled, on maximum setting. They're not civilians, they're soldiers on a military mission, so privacy laws don't really apply. None of the marines are antagonists, so this should not have any drawbacks.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): No need to remind everyone of suit sensors.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):] Just disable the ability to modify suit sensors on all marine jumpsuits and set them permanently to the 'tracking beacon' setting.

Gives the command staff something to do as well.
Be nice if they were sectioned off under their squad/jobs. So let's say you send Alpha into the caves, you can watch their health and see them take casualties. Which is also canon to the movies as well.

You have a +1 from me, if, and only if, the Z-level Suit Sensors shit is fixed. It's hard to track a squad from the Sulaco when you can't see their sensors on the Nostromo or Lazarus Landing.

+1 If this was a normal SS13 server, I would disagree. However, this isn't, and his point is valid. The underwear should not have sensors, however the jumpsuits should.

I think that the marine jumpsuits should definitely automatically have them on max. It's important to have the option to turn them off, but they should be on by default. +1

+1 Forget privacy. These are marines, They are on deadly missions, When are they going to need privacy. When in their Military marine jump suit get up. In their pajamas sure. But In their actual jump suit? nah. I agree. Always on at full!
But next thing you know. Pajamarines are a thing again.
