[ALPHA] Two-handed marine action (Dual-wielding)

Post by Julinova » 26 Jul 2015, 07:08

CM Version (alpha or Regular):Alpha

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Marines should be able to shoot two single-handed weapons (SMG, gyro-stabilized M41As, pistols) at once. (Nothing else to add.)

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): More maine immersun. Also being able to use unused weapons and pistols, because, who the heck uses revolvers or pistols theese days?

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): With maybe clicking on one gun and then haing booth selected with some kind over overlay ontop of the other gun warning the player that they have booth weapons selected.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Just a simple code to add that booth (l_hand and r_hand) get selected if theres single-handed weapons in each hand.

Honestly though, you'd be better off just switching your active hand every time you fire. There's no real need for this since you'd fire slower than firing both weapons separately.

@Terminator541
It's more about dealing more damage (more bullets) than that.

Alright then let me put a real scenario that I encountered.

Alright on the alpha i was getting my arm and hand fixed and suddenly a hunter appears.
Guess what?
I had no SMG but a pistol!
Ran off once I shot it with a pistol!

Next scenario!

My arm is gone and the M41A I took is lost to xeno territory.
And guess what I had?
A pistol to back them off with!

Also the MPs use stun revolvers and they have holsters for pistols!

Edit:They are sidearms that are used in multiple situations like losing your gun and shit (as stated before).
Just because you don't use it often doesn't mean it is useless!

(P.S this would kinda encourage Rambos).

I use revolvers all the time, they do shit tons of damage. Great for if you get captured and can't find your M4, beats the hell out of a knife.

I'd actually sorta like to see dual wielding. It could be fun, but it would have to have a catch.

more like 80% iv blind fired in real life before and i couldn't even hit my target with 10 shots and that is with both hands, duel wielding two ARs would most likely brake your hands if not make you shoot yourself/ally

Its doable with guns much larger than an AR.

Modern-day weapons that are not high-powered rifles have really low recoil, and just guess what it would be in the future - As you hae seen on the video, I guess that Soldier shot with average accuracy. It's not like he had such a high recoil that he got thrown back by it - Well, untrained personnel, sure, but yeah, you get my point.

What confuses me is that we can shoot the L6 saw with one hand and it shoots slower than the M4A1, despite being a machine gun... and we have to use the ASSAULT RIFLE with two hands.
