Requisition Office and a bit about attachments.

Post by Jeser » 26 Jul 2015, 13:51

CM Version (alpha or Regular):Alpha

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Few changes of Requisition office. Autolathe and attachments small cnahges, add labeler, new crates.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It will make work in Requisition much easier and faster.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Well, I recently played as requisition officer few rounds. I really like cargo, it's my favourite part of SS. So, I spotted some problems and have suggestions on them.
  1. APLU Ripley. First: They are useless now, just a decoration. We don't have many points to order more than two-three crates, it's much faster to pull them on your own. Second: They take three tiles each (APLU and recharge station). Cargo area is small. Really. When shuttle is in cargo, there is one tile between recharge staion with APLU and shuttle airlocks. Very uncomfortable. Suggestion: please, remove one APLU Ripley, the one, that near shuttle. Done.
  2. Webbings crate. Who did that? Situation: I had four orders for webbings. Each ten (or 15, i forgot) points. I ordered them. They came. One webbing and three shoulder holster. No, really?? What he fuck is that? I was dissapointed and nearly beaten up by marines, cause they thought I was fooling them. Result: only one marine got what he needed and I waste 30 (or 45) points for nothing! That's kinda very unfair. Suggestion: please, separate Webbing crate and holster crate or delete holster at all. Done.
  3. Well, points. I know, there always not enough points. But we have too much small budget, really. You can increase speed of adding points, give more points for returned crates or something else, but, please, do something with it. Done.
  4. Autolathe and attachments. Of course, I don't ask you to make all attachments printable (but that's kinda pretty logical), but some of them. Forward grip and bipod can be easily printed. Also, please, add two or even three screwdrivers in Marine Armory. And make knife transformable into bayonet by using screwdriver on it. More detailed:
    1. Knife transforming to bayonet.
    2. Forward grip and bipod are printable.
    3. Make just one crate: Black Ops crate (4 supressers, 4 red dots, 2 gyroscopes. (smokes are useless anyway)). Price 40 points. Not needed now.
Because I really don't get it, why in rail crate there are flashlights, when I need more red dots, instead of flashlights and I can just print flashlights. This is stupid.
  5. Labeler. Well, what cargo without a labeler? Okay, if seriously, I want to use labeler for labeling crates, esspecially those for dropping. Also, it can be fun sometimes.
  6. From last test I found out that RO now have usual cargo headset. Well, WTF? RO need access to command channel (as well as CMO as CE), cause it would be much faster for SLs and Overwatches to order supplies. Leave usual cargo headsets for technicians, but return command headset to RO (and CMO with CE too). Returned.
  7. Add few empty boxes in cargo.
  8. Add new crates: plasteel crates, flares crate.
  9. Change existing crates: MRE crate. It has MRE boxes. In each box only ONE meal. Why not at least three-four? Why are there boxes if they have only one item each one? Remove boxes or full them with meals.
Thank you.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Make forward grip and dipod printable in autolathe, add screwdrivers to Marine Armory, make knife transformable into bayonet using screwdriver, add one or two labelers to Requisition office.

I've had some experience as the RO too and I can honestly agree with most of these points.

1. Ripley (and recharge station) Yes, remove one of them. In my time of playing, I NEVER used them. They take up unnecessary space in the already tight quarters.

2.Having holsters and webbing crates separated is a BIG deal. I ordered three on one occurrence and received three holsters when webbing's were requested. Honestly, too, I would enjoy it if the crates spawned with 2 or even 3 compared to the one.

3.To me, the point system is fine. There are plenty of excess crates about in the storage and around the cargo hanger which gives a small bump to get the round going. Having it increased would be advised however because you may sit upon a throne of points at one point, that will all crumble down after a swarm of staff demand their oddities.

4.Some of the attachments need to be made. The grip is priority. Silencers and Red-Dot sights can be found in the Special Ops crate. Adding a few screwdrivers to the armory will save some of the metal used for the autolathe (Because marines always come up there to ask for one) I wouldn't MIND the knife being capable of being attached though the only problem I see with this is the guy that will take 4 knives from the dispenser. (One for the boot, mask, belt, and weapon/bayonet)

5. A labeler would be perfect. It's one of those little changes that makes adds a bit more spice to the pot.

All in all, I believe I'm +1 for this

  1. I use Ripley one time in round. At the beginning, to load all crates to shuttle.
  2. Separate holster and webbing AND two webbings in crate would be great.
  3. No, if they add more crates from beginning, so I RO can send them with shuttle and have bigger point boost from beginning, that's will be fine too. What main idea: I should ALWAYS have at least 30 points, so if some squad is needed of supply drop, I can immediately order crate. But if I would sit and wait for these points with current points politic, biggest part of marines won't get attachments they need.

For the love of god, please add Plasteel crates to the Engineering requisition options.

And preferably permaban combat engineers that steal the Plasteel from Engineering so that Sci can't make better use of it than they ever will.

Agree with most of this, but keep the RIPLEYs; Sci can weaponize them effectively if they're any good.

Would also add a prosthetics crate so an FOB Medbay could be supplied with some.

I hate to do that, but I have to. BUMP! I updated post.

Medbay has two/three prosthetics printers, so suck crate isn't needed. They should just order metal, that's it.

Oh my god yes.

Also, I'd like Cargo to start with some cardboard, stealing boxes from all around the station shouldn't happen as much as it does.

I'm adding this. We really need few boxes from start. Buе you can order boxes crate if you didn't know.

Unfortunately, the reality is that Medbay often doesn't have time to make and distribute prosthetics for itself, nevermind to the RO for deployment to the FOB after the first set of casualties come back, it's simply the case in practice.

Again, I really don't believe a lot of people appreciate and understand just how overworked that department gets.
