Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Okay, so. The acid spits are ridiculously strong at the moment. As a standard sentinel, I recall getting hit with a 20 burn spit. Given that halloss doubles its value based on burn damage, that's practically 40 halloss. You get massive slow-down and have a high chance for acute infections. As a spitter, I think it ups to 45. Praetorians are also at 45. 45 burn is 90 halloss, and that'll floor a marine very quickly. That is with only one acid spit, and it costs relatively the same as a typical neuro spit. And it has the same cost/cooldown as the neuro spit. Little risk versus reward here, you get to grievously wound a marine with little consequence whatsoever.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Gives the acid-spitting class of caste aliens some drawbacks when using more lethal spits, and all the consequences that go with it.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Double the plasma cost of lethal spits. Lethalspits are annoying as shit and are very difficult to counter, if at all.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): See above. Just double the plasma cost of lethal spits rather than nerfing the stats of them into the ground. If this doesn't work to balance it out, then stat-changes might be needed.

In addition to above post, I'd like to point out both acid and neurotoxin spits appear to travel above flipped tables regardless of direction of approach. I don't know if it's intentional or not but it renders flipping tables completely useless as a form of cover from ranged attacks.

Agreed the acid fucks over everything.. and is way too stronk... i mean i got hit i believe 3 times by acid spit and i went down to red health.... which completely fucked me over so yes +1 to this.

Summary:
Damage is fine as long as there is a drawback to having said amount of damage.

As someone that played spitter, I can confirm. Maybe buff the cost to 150/175 plasma?

Made all the worse now that spit totally ignores friendlies, not to mention that painkillers currently do shit all vs Halloss when it comes to resisting paincrit because traumatic shock doesn't factor into it at all when it should.

The drawback is that it's one less host in the quest to expand the hive as far as you can. It does travel over tables which is understood because it is a projectile like the neurotoxin. You counter it with bullets, fire, rocketlaunchers, smartguns etc. and dodge it the ol' fashioned way.

Got put into an extremely long lasting pain crit from two spits. Absolutely ridiculous. One alien player told me he can chain spits, dropping another just at about the time his target gets back up.

Again, way too easy to use and far too spammable for its impact between its AoE, damage, friendly fire and cover ignoring; shields are also useless against it thanks to the splash. Mass Praetorian meta has become very common, probably for this reason.


Even if you want to argue that the factions are roughly balanced (which I disagree with; I definitely find Aliens to be at least slightly favoured), acid spit itself is just straight up bullshit.

I think halloss just needs to be removed from burns. Getting sent into paincrit and not being able to succumb is annoying as hell.
