Predator: Survival (Gamemode)
Summary: Basically 8 players spawn as survivors around the map and a squad of predators (4 or 5) hunt them down for game. The survivors would use motion sensors or proximity sensors to detect the predators hunting them and weapons found around the map to fight back.
Benefits: Would be an awesome game mode to have besides, colonial marines standard game mode.
Details: The players will have to spawn with AT LEAST a combat knife or a pistol with a clip, This game mode is based off the "Predators" movie, the survivors as seen in the movie fall down with gear.
Implementation: The predators will have individual objectives to collect for example 10 human heads or 20 heads. To deal with huge survivor population you could make a cycle to "air drop" (spawn) more survivors on the ground. So each time a group of survivor dies the next players waiting can join in the game. The predators can't team up and will be competing against each other to finish their objectives first (It's a game, someone has to win obviously ). The only way the survivors can win if they kill all the predators or activate a emergency beacon to call for help.

technically it's better for low pop but that's how it would work with huge populations

With 100 + players i can see this receiving alot of negative feedback about how long it takes etc.
Don't get me wrong the idea is good but..it just needs to fit the current population we are getting..

How about instead of 8, we deploy 12 or 15 players every 10 minutes?

But yeah, I do think this could be a legitimate game mode, it just needs to be tweaked. A lot. For example, right now, there are very few people allowed to be a pred. (VERY FEW) So maybe this could happen when more people get whitelisted.

Well, it won't work already. Cause we have no proximity on anymore, cause coders removed it. It caused many lags.

The server is kind of centered around the concept of colonial MARINES. I think we should have several gamemodes involving the marines and other people though (like colonists), and not just constant xenos/preds (in any case, these two should be given more attention in terms of balance/content so that they're more refreshing and fun to play as when they do appear in a round again).
On that note, marines are a VERY popular position right now and if they continue being (very likely) we definetely have to add some interesting and challenging aspects to the other factions or any future ones so that players can experience something else than just a constant unvawering military force. People come here looking for an action filled server, after all.

I personally think that the predator to human ratio should be like 1:4. One predator, four humans. So say if there were a bunch of people currently on after an Alien round, and they stay for the next round and it ends up being 32 people, you have eight Predators to that set amount of people. The only problem I see with this is if more people join during the duration of the round, outnumbering the Predators most likely.

I fought a predator with three other people on my side, one person did not make it back, and we discovered the predator had eaten him, and our sniper was heavily injured. we were armed and armoured marines, do not make it a 1:4 ratio against unarmed colonists.
I'm not joking when I say 1:12 would be more appropriate.

I like the idea of a Colony round, where all the players play normal roles, Security, Cargo and such and we just go on like a normal round whilst Ayyliums and Preds stalk through the jungle, watching us.

I mean...it's an alien hunter with superhuman strength and speed, along with high-tech weapons and technology. how else would you kill it?
I mean, use bait, like a guy with a gun, and place 'em in the middle of the trap, and when the pred shows itself surround it and fill it full of holes.
