[Alpha] Custom Loadout Addition
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Add the weapon attachments to the custom loadout on the character setup window, with a cost of 2 points per item. (Loadout limit is 5 points)
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
I think this may streamline the game startup a bit, and will permit requisitions to focus on requests of more importance. Engineers and medics will be able to move through the request line faster if there is less busywork in it.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Each of the weapon attachments items would be added to the custom load-out selection in the character window. I believe if they cost two points per attachment than most marines will get the basic weapon loadout that they desire. If the marine then wants to get something else in addition they would need to go to requisitions and make a request as they do now. My guess is that this will speed up the prep time for marines, letting the marines as a whole be ready sooner for briefings, which could be a bad side if that cuts into the alien prep time too much. Non-marines will have one big advantage, they will have much smaller lines to deal with when trying to request crates of stuff at round start for taking down to the planet. I would hope that would let them get more stuff that is more meaningful to them, and in turn will make the round more interesting and enjoyable for the marines as a whole. The other thing this would permit is for the RO to require forms for things without grinding the entire round start to a halt, but I'm not convinced that is entirely a good thing.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

This, I can accept. However, wouldn't that make RQ's job almost useless?

Re: [Alpha] Custom Loadout Addition
They can only get 2 attachments with 5 points. I guess keep the more powerful attachments (gyro stabilizer) out of the loadout. Kinda neutral on this because it COULD make ROs useless, as you usually just need a rail light and forward grip. Also, if this does get accepted, could zippos be added to the loadout choices?UnknownMurder wrote:This, I can accept. However, wouldn't that make RQ's job almost useless?

Actually, no, Uknown. Believe me, RO have much more job to do, for example, order metal, syrgical crates, and prepare standard care packages for squads. Though I will miss lines of arguing marines, heh. Neutral on that.UnknownMurder wrote:This, I can accept. However, wouldn't that make RQ's job almost useless?

Re: [Alpha] Custom Loadout Addition
Actualy, this is not bad suggection, but there is one problem. I have in loadout now webbing, beret engie-orange and green glasses. When I spawn as marine I only have beret on my head. When I spawn as RO, I have beret and webbing with glasses in my backpack. I mean, you won't be able to have attachments if system of loadout spawning would not be changed.UnknownMurder wrote:I said... Almost useless... Not entirely.

Re: [Alpha] Custom Loadout Addition
Why is there an option to spawn in with custom items...
I know that they're there but, why? Part of the reason to have custom gear comes with donating.
They aren't gamebreaking of course but I don't think it should be an option to get them.
Also, I strongly am against the reasoning for having spawned attachments.
First off you're waking up as a marine, from cyro-sleep, and you have a suppressor and scope just on you?
Another thing is part of the enjoyment is getting the items.
When I was RO my few rounds, I made conversation. Not enough to boggle the line but I made it interesting.
It all boils down to having a GOOD RO. Having a suckish one with a incompetent cargo tech to backup is a pain.
But given to the right kinda guy it can be done smooth and simple like.
I'm still against even having a cargo tech because the job is simple enough for one person, if you know what you're doing.
Having a bad RO will cripple this however, so for those circumstances I'd understand.
But overall I don't think marines need to begin with attachments.
Apologies, this is my opinion however

Having bad RO is pain, it is true. When I'm engineer and want to get webbing and RO totally incompetent, it is really annoying and you have to through LOOC teach RO how to RO. Stupid as fuck. You are right about nonRP waking up with attachments. If only it is not your own attachments, that you bought on your money, that's why they are in your pockets. :P

Denied. Get your attachments from the RO.
