[Discussion] Weyland and Xenomorphs

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Weyland-Yutani representatives might have some (little) information about what was going on on the planet, and can request more from their employer. Knowing that Xenomorphs were researched in controlled environment before breaching containment would add another thing to do to this role - they might pressure marines into securing research notes, live specimen or go down to the planet themselves to assess damage. Weyland-Yutani owns enough shares in USMC to give them power to strongly suggest doing some of these things.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): More to do for the role, and would give a kind of "xeno sympathizer" character to the round - they would oppose simply nuking the shit out of the research complex because it's very expensive. Xenomorphs are very expensive too, so they would oppose just killing them.

I would honestly say that the Weyland guy should have nearly full disclosure of the events transpiring before the marine's arrival.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Problem is, there is nothing in place to encourage the marines into capturing xenomorphs or securing any kind of research asides from roleplay purposes. Sure, the liason can get all pouty and complain to WY, but at best all that'll happen is a strongly worded letter to the commander, who even then can't really stop his marines from destroying everything in sight.

Perhaps some more apparent ramifications could occur should the marines continue to ignore WY?

I agree... Weyland Yutani Rep should not have 'little' information as you think... The Rep should have the 'truth' behind the incident and a small evidence tying to the Weyland Yutani, and Command Staffs should come up to the WY Rep... And so... The Fun Begins.

Most of the time WY PMCs act like they know about the infestation anyway, so do most of the CL's I've seen. Not sure if it's 100% allowed or not, but, yea.

When I play CL I limit myself to it was a WY colony and sometimes I throw in something about an archaeological colony, but I always fax WY before any alien knowledge comes about.

Well, they are sometimes using apesuits, which are designed to hunt and combat xenomorphs.

Well, let's just put it this way, you're an extremely rich, enterprising business that wants to control xenomorphs and in turn control the universe through force.

Pay off the bribable marines, make some fake evidence about honest marines being criminals so the marines you paid off can do your dirty work.

This could be an inverted traitor round, everybody except one or two people is bribed by WY and are hunting down the honest marines.

Back to the main topic, bribe the marines into getting notes and specimens for you and keep their mouths shut about it, get rid of the "honest" marines, make money from the notes and specimens, everybody except the honest marines go home richer and happier.

I'm a businessman, I think evil like dat.

Once, as a survivor, the Corporate Liason made an effort to get me killed so I wouldn't leak any information. He even sent a hitman after me who managed to finish me off. It was actually a LOT of fun.

I've been tasked by WY a few times to contain the information and eliminate the survivors, but only through WY fax. I think that some knowledge of the colony should be there from the start but maybe not more than that.
