Defibrillators do not work.

Post by cylian » 05 Aug 2015, 08:58

Spent god knows how many hours being a medic & doctor and after dozens of cases where people dip just a hair too far into critical and have their heart stop beating, No matter the nature of the injury, be it an alien embryo busting a chest open or some guy that bled too much, defibs NEVER seem to work, no matter how much you try, the patients stay dead, even if they are in their corpse or not. I've tried and confirmed this trying to defib recently deceased outside the cloning lab.

Did you give the patent/corpse blood and stop the bleeding before defibbing? Cause you know....electricity doesn't just materialize blood. And if they burst their ghost is probably in an alien rather than the body.

Have you ever had a successful defib attempt?

I've had multipe successful defib attempts. The key is you have to remove the clothing covering their chest before you attempt it.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Well, it would certainly be great having something telling you in-game that this is needed.

No, not really considering characters have underwear clothing that includes t-shirt which can't be removed. I also never had a single other defib system on any other server that wouldn't warn of something being in the way (like exosuits).

Welcome to ss13 motherfucker, read the wiki. It's not a game built to be streamlined and hold your hand and that's the fun of it.

It's not streamlined only because devs are too busy adding important stuff to focus on manuals, just like Dwarf Fortress or every other independent game ever. So calm your tits, motherfucker, he has every right to don't know that, especially with servers using technically the same code but with differences like that.

Someone had around 80 brute and 190 oxy damage. Defibbing them around 10 times in a row without armor and clothing did not work. They were in their body.

-Was he out of the body?
-Was he dead for more than one minute?
-Did he have less than 40% of blood?
-Did you remove his armor and uniform?

If one of them is true, you can't revive him.

Uniform has to be off too? I... never knew that. That explains why I haven't had a defib work for me... :(

Why don't, you use the proper format?

Also, you only have about 2 minutes to defib them, and only if they didn't ghost.
