Helmet Repairs
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
I believe that there should be some way to repair helmets, be it a method, or perhaps just a machine on the Sulaco that you put your helmet into and it comes out repaired. Many might ask, "Well Biolock, you sexy devil you, why would we need to repair our helmets if we can just grab another one easily?". My answer is that this is more directed at donators, who's helmet is a one of a kind and can't be replaced.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
This will allow donators to repair their helmets so the minute they get thrusted into their first facehugger they don't lose a piece of their donor armor. And on top of that, no more helmet shortages!
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Perhaps their could be a machine in the ready up room that would allow you to put your broken helmet in and out would pop a brand spankin' new one of the same type.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
I'm not a coder, but I imagine this could be a feasible task, but again, I'm not a coder.

I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Re: Helmet Repairs
Sulaco has enough helmets. You can order marine's and SL's armor crates in Requisitions, so no. Some exception for donors seems legit, but dunno, how to realize that.

Re: Helmet Repairs
I support being able to somehow repair B18 Helmets, and maybe normal helmets for Doner items.

Re: Helmet Repairs
Yes, that's the only helmet that can't be fixed and can't be re-ordered. But this is special thing, I guess. Maybe, B18 possibly, can be made repairable, but that's debatable.RehabBaron wrote:Also B18 helmets cannot be replaced.

Re: Helmet Repairs
It should be fixable, your exchanging taking a powerful weapon for powerful armour, yet the helmet itself only blocks three facehuggers (which is only one more than a SL) and once its broken your forced to seek a replacement helmet which does not offer the same robust protection the B18 helm does.

Re: Helmet Repairs
Again. I see so many of these suggestions it hurts. Let me go over what we have in alpha and what we have in the old server. Old server: You lost your helmet 100% when you were facehugged. Alpha: Your helmet cracks and looses the ability to deflect facehuggers but is not gone for good thus you still have protection to your head from friendly fire and alien slashing. I would say it works out better in the long run even if we can not repair them. Either way it than gives the RO a reason to use that Armor crate or for marines to go back and grab a new one eventually. -1

Re: Helmet Repairs
The concern is with donor items SAS. That's why these threads keep popping up.

Re: Helmet Repairs
As I mentioned prior. I think the B18 helm and Donator items should be repairable.
It should not necessarily be easy, to the point where it would be easier to nab a helmet from a locker, but it should be doable for those two helmet types.

Re: Helmet Repairs
I'm personally against having it for donor items as *Cough* Pay to win *Cough*.
Peoples thoughts will be.. "well i can't have a B18 helmet all the time so.. might as well pay $5 for one that i can have all the time every round" So please... no.Just no.

Re: Helmet Repairs
What the hell are you talking about, Penguin? It'd be the same as just getting a new helmet; in fact, the helmet repair station and the helmet dispensary would be in the same area. There's literally no advantage to having a donor helmet in that situation. It's merely a way to make it so that after your first encounter with a facehugger, your donor helmet isn't broken for the rest of the game so you need to trash it. It's a way to rejuvinate the helmet when you return to the Sulaco, the same way you would get a new helmet.

Depends on realization. If your idea, than it's all right, but no repair with welders in the field.Biolock wrote:What the hell are you talking about, Penguin? Denied, duplicate suggestion.
