Stomach acid kills the host before you can get them to the hive.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): So when you are devoured you take damage, which is fine but currently this damage is way too over the top, as in most cases you will end up killing your host by bringing them back that way instead of pulling.So basically what i'm asking is for the devouring damage inside an alien to be nerfed so the host can actually survive the trip.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Aliens will be able to use devouring effectively instead of killing their hosts by accident.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Just nerf the damn stomach acid damage

+1 I'd agree with this. The excessive damage discourages actually capturing/infecting because most xenos aren't willing to take the risk of dragging a host all the way back to the hive.

It damages you fast enough that if you've been facehugged, by the time you wake up you'll have enough shock that you won't be able to get up. This is probably intended, though.
But by the time they get you to their nest, you're in hard crit and probably will die in a bit. This is probably not intended, unless the changes were designed to make devouring into a killing method.

Not really, makes no sense for a creature of acid blood/stomach to swallow something that should be physically impossible for it to do so, and then have it live in the stomach for minutes. your stomach acid is really nasty, what did you expect. If you want low damage then make it so huggers detach when your swallowed to prevent host death.

I was more thinking of it kind of being not very practical for alien use as it currently is, due to it causing massive damage to hosts inside killing them by the time they get to the hive, where as on classic the damage wasn't as high but still did damage to weaken a marine but not enough to kill them unless you kept them inside you for ages.

+1, While I like that they eventually dissolve definitely have seen where it can become very problematic when someone devoured is dead too quickly for the Xeno to reach the hive.

+1, aliens kill far too many hosts because we cannot get them to a hive fast enough, even as runners. Reduce, or remove the acid.
