There has been discussion about this, but further input would be appreciated.

I say do it. We can use a guy to move the drop pods and shuttles, at the same time defending them. Maybe they should get their own prep room with turrets to set up on the shuttle to aid in defending them?

I've stated my opinion of this in some other suggestions but i'll just do it again.
So basically my opinion is yes do it ! but only if we add in the refueling idea and that the pilot can fly faster with more fuel etc because nitros, well maybe not but you get the jist.

Might be a cool job. I'd be happy to do the outfit for it.

If the shuttle pilot gets a cool pilot helmet (with a chance of different decals/sprite) I'd totally play it. I'd suggest maybe 2-3 pilots though, or 1 Pilot, 1 Copilot, 1 Pit Crew/Glorified MT.

I would suggest an Operations Officer type job and maybe some Field Logistics Technicians who are responsible for piloting/repiring/unloading/loading etc. They would not also fly it, but keep the sentries loaded, move bodies and wounded around, etc.

I really like the idea of adding a flight crew of around 3 maybe four people. One who is in charge of the flight crew and every thing involved. Then one who Flys then two who do everything else

What if the pilot launching the shuttle made it so it reaches its destination faster? As it's been said before the remote control is not ideal.

I say do it. It will alleviate so much pressure on the XOs, or someone who can send the shuttle.

(Maybe it's related maybe not, but I think a good idea is to add a trolley thing -like what the cargo people have for boxes- but with roller beds on them because usually medics will have to do multiple rounds to bring the wounded aboard the shuttle. It could also be more useful for quick evacuation of the wounded.)

OR

(a medical drop ship where combat medics have the authority to send for it and send it off.)

All medics ought to have two as part of their kit, so it shouldn't be to much of an issue there.

If you need to use stasis bags, you honestly shouldn't be a medic. It's fairly easy to stabilize most patients enough to not need stasis bags.

Yep a good medic is always prepared for anying. As a sulaco doctor I had a broken left arm and a hurt right hand. I continued to do surgeries until the end. Full on dedication right there. Kept dropping the tools mid surgery

Punctured lung mostly. Other than that you can get them out with a simple body bag.
