B18 Gas Mask

Summary: This is a alternative to repairing helmets.

My suggestion is that the B18 Armour also comes with a special looking B18 Gas Mask, this gas mask acts as a fourth face hugger block (essentially the mask will block one facehugger). However the Gas Mask will never break, meaning it can block a infinite amount of facehuggers. However a facehugger that hits the mask will still rip of the mask, meaning that a captured B18 user is still vulnerable to facehuggers and the B18 user still has to pick up his mask when its torn off.

Benefits: Not only would this suggestion complete the idea of a visor, but it would allow a B18 user to continue to wear their robust helmet without sacrificing facehugger protection during protracted engagements.

Can't really do it. Masks don't get checked in the facehugger procs, only helmets do.

We'd have to do a LOT of rework, for a tiny thing.

I was thinking this since Gas Mask's used to be able to block huggers.

The only alternative to this suggestion is to apply this to the helmet. The helmet gets infinite blocking capabilities but it gets knocked off every time.

I just personally think the B18 needs more going for it when it comes to facehuggers, as it's only one extra hugger above a SL helm.

You seem very intent on giving the B18 a visor.

Couldn't you just wear the gas-mask with the armor? That's what I see some specialists do, plus the gas-mask never breaks.

The visor is a side benefit.

I'm more concernd with how the B18 helm offers not a lot of defence versus facehuggers, and considering you can't order more B18 helms (for obvious reasons) your shit out of luck once you've tanked three huggers, and to be honest the B18 helm encourages you to be at the head of the pack thus you'll take more huggers to the face.

E: Also the Gas Mask does not block facehuggers anymore, and when it did it only blocked it once akin to the standard helmet.
