Multiple Landing Zones.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): So basically this suggestion is to add multiple landing zones ( You decide where you want them ) which the person who sends the shuttle can choose from on the console.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): More choices for landing zones, Will help stop camping from either side.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Multiple landing zones which a shuttle can be launched too.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Just add in another landing zone or something..

EDIT : This might be tricky to code.. ( Not sure but i'll roll with it being hard to code. )

I'm no coder, But I believe the shuttle currently runs like a shuttle to an outpost in regular ss13. They'd have to move the shuttle to a similar function at the nuke ops/raider shuttle with multiple locations. It's doable, in theory, but I have no idea how they got the the shuttle to move to the travel space before landing in the first place.

yeah, this is something that i believe is planed for long term but right now it's on the back burner, i submitted a design document for a map like this but it would require work that could be better used

Then wouldn't there be a cat and mouse chace for xenos to try to get on the shuttle? The pilot, that I hope will be implemented, would just keep moving it to different landing zones everytime an alien tries to get on.

+1, at least for the droppod, as shuttle kinda requires a bigger and more prepared plot to land.

+1, if you just mean having the shuttle land in one of several different pre-defined landing zones, that is extremely amazingly easy. If you mean something the marines can set-up, that I have no idea.

Not really sure where another landing zone could be placed, maybe west of the Robotics and Corporate domes?

Total +1 to this, it'd reeealllly cut down the LZ camping.

I would probably suggest moving the current shuttle LZ to just north of the giant tree, that way from there marines can set up in any of the buildings easily instead of just the main dome.

Then I think the second shuttle LZ should be way off in the jungle south-west.

Drop-pod first landing zone could move to where the current LZ is.

Drop-pod second landing zone could go near the forwards fob north of the river.

This is actually critical as a backend feature for more maps, which might have different landing zones and so forth. As the code is the same as the Syndicate shuttle and the areas involved use ubsimulated turfs, there shouldn't actually be any issue in working it out. I don't think the current map would actually work with multiple zones simply because of how it's laid out, but that could be rectified and, none the less, the back end is critical.

I recommend also a camera on the center of each dropsite, nightvision etc, to see how the site is doing. There should also be a message saying that "The dropship has landed to the west side!" and junk like that for both teams.

I mean, they could literally just change the area for the shuttle to the Syndicate shuttle and use the code that already exists. It wouldn't be too difficult.
