I think it sounds fine. Might come in handy for a good queen.

I don't get why people are saying this ruins the game. It helps the queen stop people from being little shits and disobeying. If you ever played queen you would know this is an amazing handy feature. Having to play another role isn't that big of a deal and you might find that your own skills are beyond just murderboning as a runner

Forcing players to be something they don't would most likely result in many players not playing xenos and this would kinda make it harder for the xenos with few numbers if everyone ghosts resulting in marine victory.

+1, I would also like if it showed how many members of each caste there already were when you choose to evolve.

People, you still don't get a point. If you choose to play aliens, you accept that you will totally obey the Queen. You have choice: play as weak, if alone, Marine with free will, or play as powerfull Xenomorph, STFU and listen to Queen. Those are too different systems of two totally different fractions.

The potential to lose even more Xeno players is not worth the bonus of this feature.

We have far too many people go SSD right away as Larva and tier1's.. we can't afford to further lose more players due to restrictions.

I think you can attribute larvas going braindead due to the larvas being the Marine who the larva bursted from. I would not fault a Marine player in not wanting to play as a Alien after dying to them.

Do what other servers do (tg) and make the larva be selected from someone who is ghosted first.

This is already the default, if no ghost are available/have the preference on.. you become the larva.

Pretty shitty system, by the way.

Why not make it spawn ckey-less larvae then? Marines get the benefit of being able to get cloned after bursting and aliens don't lose anything as they get to use the "join as larva" verb. If a marine still wants to play as an alien they always have the choice of toggling their preference or waiting 10 minutes to take over the larva in case they forgot to do it.

As I've said already, if you're ghosting upon bursting, this server's not for you. The only kind of player that would be against this idea is the kind of player that opposes the Queen, something which is not allowed.

-1 what if you dont want to be a drone its stupid i play the runner caste all the time unless a larva asks what do you want me to be dont make one person pick its nobody's fault if there is 10 runners and a queen
It can also go the other way, I'm not too robust in hand-to-hand(but I am decent with guns), so I tend to want to play more as drone/hivelord/Queen, because I'm a far better hive-builder than I am a host-infector. I'm alright(but not great) with Sentinel/Spitter/Praetorian(haven't gotten to play boiler yet) but with Runners/Hunters/Ravagers/Crushers I'm Complete Garbage, so to speak.

On the other hand, this could be a useful tool for Queens who don't want heavy imbalance in their hive because larvae are being silent and just picking whatever caste they want.

I think a notification when new larvae are born would be useful. Right now I feel neutral about this.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm pretty bad at this.

This might be difficult, but possible if people are still interested in it.
