Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Allowing crew aboard the Sulaco to upgrade technology, such as the sleepers or cryopods, with things that they have researched (such as pico-manipulators replacing micro-manipulators). At the moment, it seems that this is completely impossible due to the inability to actually open the panels on some things.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
I feel as though this will give more reward for those players who decide to go Researcher, and encourage them to actually develop new technology while they await RP chances (such as a captured alien). After all, there's only so much research they can do due to the limitations on resources (such as easy access to minerals).
It would give Researchers a more noticeable impact on the late-game, due to buffed sleepers/cryos/etc. being able to more easily treat injured marines.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Allowing crew to take apart equipment such as sleepers and whatnot, take out the technology bits (manipulators, scannres, micro-lasers) and put in better ones to upgrade the machine.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
I could be wrong, but I thought something like this was already somewhere in the code, or on bay. If I'm wrong, perhaps some code-borrowing. Or disregard it entirely if it would be too much work.
I know there's one version here http://www.ss13.eu/wiki/index.php/Guide ... nstruction
If it's not in the Bay code, then oh well.

Enable Upgrading of Technology
The story of Edgardo and A Guy Named Squid. Good read. Greentext ahoy. - https://1d4chan.org/wiki/The_Ballad_of_Edgardo
The almighty Dr FrankenBaldie, creator of horrors such as the yautja-human hybrid, the yautja-space carp hybrid and the human-permaban hybrid. Know his name and know despair.
Runner up in a high-stakes game of poker.

Not that I was able to find. If so, just lock the thread. My bad.Sargeantmuffinman wrote:Didn't we already have this suggested?
