Make Aliens Cloneable

Post by warhammer40k123 » 27 Aug 2015, 08:56

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Basically. A researchers dream is to get a nice live xenomorph scum. And this never happens. No marines simply have time to take a prisoner.

So. why not just take the corpses and clone them?.

that will make a researchers day a lot better and will give them something to do other than making Cool guns for the MPs

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
1 the researchers will have something to do and roleplay with. allowing the station to further research these things other than "They throw crabs that impregnate you and shit. also they're nasty."
2 Aliens will get a chance to be reborn.
3 it will make capturing aliens ALOT easier.
4 it will give us a reason for pulling corpses onto the shuttle.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
1 the marines don't have to capture any more. they can just pull a corpse onto the sulaco and take it to cloning. a MP could easily stun and cuff the alien when he comes out of cryo. and done.
2 they get cloned.
3 no need to take live hostages. just kill them and clone 'em
4 well. easy. the marine grabs le corpse and puts on le shuttle.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Change the code so the Cloning machine believes the alien is a human and will bypass the restricting code.

No thanks, there is no use for a xeno hostage ever, and also, they won't really get interrogated...queen and all

No and we have no actual reason to clone them that benefits the marines in ANY WAY. -1

Also why would we clone a killing machine that would kill the marines?

What human in their right mind would clone a killing machine with acid for blood on the sulaco..
Also....No...you cant stun nor cuff xenos, xeno hostages dont work, they can melt the cuffs and then chew your brain, and interrogation is also a no..due to hivemind

well make it so you can handcuff xenomorphs. Why do you all hate taking xenomorph hostages anyways.

I let researcher have a little live larva the marines captured at the start of the round because I thought yea rp, CO would want to know more about these things and no I hadn't gotten to talk to the two survivors that the marines found and brought back yet. Apparently the research ignored it in the secure room it was and then just messages us that the wall was gone due to acid. I was just lucky to have good mps and some marines who were regrearing on the sulaco who found it and took it down. Never again will that happen, scariest thing was when someone said it was by telecoms, I almost lost radio contact with the ground guys. So yea -1 researchers can go down to the planet if they want, but if I am ever CO and once we find out they are hostile I am ordering death to all bugs.

While I do not support this suggestion researchers cannot go planet side, that is against the rules.

-1. Cloners work because human/tajaran/discovered alien race DNA is already recognizable and easily accessed in a database. Xenomorphs are supposed to be un-discovered to anyone except W-Y. And it's doubtful they ever FULLY analyzed a xenomorph specimen enough to be able to fully reconstruct their DNA through a cloner machine. While it would be cool, it's not lore friendly and doesn't make sense mechanics wise.
