Instant gib?

Bug Description:
Not sure if it's something that's in the game because it was put there as I only just joined a few days ago, but basically I was survivor for the first time and fighting a sentinel, I had shot him a few good times but he wasn't giving up on me and he eventually hit me with the spit and I went down, he tried to devour me but I ended up running off just as he did it and it completely gibbed him. Which I find as justice since they were trying to 4v1 me like 3 minutes into the round which is really boring. Not really sure what happened besides that or if it's intended but it seemed like a bug so I reported it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Be survivor.
2. Fight for your life.
3. Jump out of the Sentinels mouth at the very last second and hope to Spess God that he explodes in a pleasant shower of gibs.
4. Die to 4 more Runners whilst running for your life.

Did you have a knife in yer hand? If so, then you "cut" your way out of the alien and took a fair amount of toxin damage in the process, but survived.

I didn't have a knife. I had a spear but since he knocked me down it fell out my hands but I might've picked it up just as he ate me. Does it work with a spear?

Well it works with anything that can do damage so i would say, yes.

Intended. You can explode xenos with sharp objects if you got eaten.
