Unable to replace organic organs with robotic organs

Post by HalfdeadKiller » 27 Nov 2015, 04:56

Bug Description: Removing an organic organ, and attempting to replace the removed organ with a robotic one throws up an error.

For example, if you remove a person's eyes, and print out robotic ones, and try to place them in. You are given a message saying "The eyes don't usually go in the head." (Not the exact quote, but close). However, if you attempt to do so with organic eyes, the eyes will be placed into the head, no problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Remove a bodies organ.
2. print out a robotic organ
3. attempt to place robotic organ into body

Not sure if this is the same bug but when ever someone tries to replace my heart with a robotic one i just die and need to be cloned.
The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

Heart replacement will kill the patient, immediately. No questions asked. This is why we have defibulators, to revive you after administering whatever chemicals needed to counteract the removal of someone's heart and the subsequent replacement of a robotic one.

You shouldn't need to replace someone's organs you can just heal them

Okay 1. This is really old
2. Doesn't excuse the fact this bug still exists
3. People like to have robotics limbs sometimes over organic, despite how much that fucks over the medics, heck its possible the original piece is missing (don't ask how) and you need to replace it with robotic

In response, you can attach robotic limbs if they are lost. While I do agree it is a bug that you can have the option to PRINT the robotic organs, I think it should be more of a suggestion to remove them.

Confirmed, but nothing to do with robotic organs, the issue is all organ items getting a default organ data instead of something specific to the organ type. So the eyes item get a data of a default nondescript organ, which defaults to "belongs in the chest". Same thing would happen if you removed a brain and tried to put it back inside the skull.
