No Smoking Signs in Medbay

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Put a couple 'No Smoking' signs in medbay.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): This is supposed to be a medbay. It's like... standard for every medical facility to disallow smoking. So for the RP aspect of CM, this fits. Also if somebody in chemistry spills phoron, the LAST thing you want is a smoker blowing that shit up. There's a shit-ton of flammable and explosive shit in chemistry.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Somebody adds the code, signs appear, and now the medbay actually has one of the rules an actual medical facility has.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Add the signs, there's probably already skins and stuff for it somewhere.

Is it needed? No. But this IS a 'medium RP' server, and this fits 'medium RP'.

I'm a fan, as long as doctors stay sane about it. The phoron spillage is a legitimate concern, indeed.

Normally I assume there's a no smoking policy to begin with, but without any sort of sign it's hard to have that enforced. Hell, there are rounds where even the doctors -all of them- are smoking. CMO as well.

I've seen entire stations go down because of a phoron fire that started in chemistry when they accidentally spilled phoron, and then some asshole came by with a lit cig. There were many people in the medical lobby at the time, including most of Command. Everyone in there died. Nobody could access an evac. From then on, even papercuts were dangerous (because infection) since all of medbay was out.

Bumping this because a duplicate was made, apparently someone died because they decided to smoke near or in medbay and subsequently burnt to death.

We could very much use No Smoking signs and a means to enforce it through the MP or, if there aren't any active, some other means I guess.

To be honest, I never really noticed that there WERE no signs in medbay.

You get so busy dealing with wounded that you don't notice the small things. For logic's sake, this would be nice to have in medbay, since I believe the signs are still stored in the base game.

However, I'm not sure if they'll be on the current sully or the new sully.

Keep in mind, this is the 70's/80's when drinking while pregnant, doing coke off of the toilet seat, and smoking in hospitals was still cool.

That may have been true for when the movie was made, but I'm fairly sure by 2150 they would have realized cigarettes are bad.

Regardless of that, neither the time period nor even the movies made then had to account for the highly flammable Phoron gas.

Im gonna go with -1.

In the aliens universe, camel joe was still the king, baby.

That means everyone smokes. Tired engineers, wounded marines, doctors in the middle of surgery.

Unless its near something flamable, then you make a slight effort to look like your snuffing out your cigarette but you keep smoking anyways.

also, spilled phoron no longer causes phoron gas i think
