Flare Guns
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Well, a flare gun can be used in a few ways. Most likely to shoot a flare in a distance, giving the marines a quick light source, so they don't have to light one by hand. It would work out in most areas where a quick light is needed in a large area.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Well marines depend on light to survive, and light helps then see what's in the general area. It would help in a few ways, yet might be an issue in others.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): It would most likely work, giving a general brightness as a regular flare and get a good rep with the community, and most seasoned players.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I'm thinking of a standard flare gun, with one shot, and a few to carry extra in a bag, belt, ect. Also, it wouldn't be a flare, but more of a beacon, except with a light source.

We had this and I heavily used it until it got removed.

If its a 1 shot flare then it would be nice to have it back now that there is a jungle/mine map but i think that it would break a little the balance off the things,although the aliens can pull the flares away easily so i guess its ok,now the question is this a thing in cargo to order ? the armory ? for engineers in the dispensers ? for specs in their dispensers ?

I'm thinking it can be a squad engineer thing. Each engineer prep could have 4, and you can give them to a squad marine, or whoever is going down. I'd also hope for them to be ordered in cargo if possible. Specs would also get ONE that could be put in a webbing, so they can hold one. Squad leads would also get ONE, but for standard marines? the only one i dis agree with is the specs,Leaders makes sense,but specs?that would make the salt-sar more powerfull that now and the M56 has a Night Vission,maybe the specs is too much?Skycave1 wrote: I'm thinking it can be a squad engineer thing. theres a flare gun in game, i want them added to sl dispencers with squad color assigned flares that everoyne will see via message and chat and can be used to signal for help or be loaded with flares for light

But to make it more useful, it should not be one-shot gun. Otherwise it doesn't matter whether you throw a flare on the floor yourself or shoot it out with a gun. I also want it available for engineers, squad leaders and specialists at least.
