XCOM ERT
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): I would like to suggest an Xcom ERT. Complete with psi powers, Mec units, and plasma rifles!
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): I know many people on Colonial Marines that would love this and do love the idea. It would be the equivalent of a marine XRT.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): I believe this would be a Hilariously bad thing to happen for the aliens, I play alien on a regular basis, and the Idea of fighting XCOM soldiers is super intriguing. I believe it could bring a different RP aspect into the game, and definitely liven up end round rather than just aliens getting steamrolled on planet, or steamrolling the suleco.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): 5-10% chance of this happening when an Emergency Response team is assembled. Would require minimal coding, as there are already plasma based weapons in game, and mec suits would function as Mechs (mec trooper can get out, but is useless outside of mec suit), the queen has psychic whisper, so psionics are already implemented in a form RP wise. Just give the Psionic trooper(s) a stun with a 15s cooldown, and a damage with 30s cooldown maybe? I'm open to more suggestions for this suggestion

Re: XCOM ERT
No just no.
Although I would LOVE to be a colonel with a fucking plasma assault rifle.
Just no, it doesn't fit with the lore.

Re: XCOM ERT
We're a medium RP server, we maintain proper lore as much as possible and this is just a bit too much...

I won't lie, I love XCOM, but on CM, it's stretching things too far.

Re: XCOM ERT
Might be a little better if it's more in line with original xcom, low-tier stuff, and was played out as a mercenary band/PMC.
They come marching in en masse with decent - if strange-looking - armour or just grey jumpsuits, grenades, flares and pulse rifles on almost all of them with a few 'specialists' dotted about with either something similar to xcom's autocannons (maybe just smartguns), or SADARs (maybe with lower-power rockets that don't breach) and so on. Panic optional.
Having an ERT that becomes a larger swarm of weak units should be a pretty neat way to seperate them from other ERTs, where the idea is usually 'a handful of specialists'

Re: XCOM ERT
I like the idea but not the way you describe it.
We could have a discount XCOM, call them "SCOM" or "totally not XCOM" and give them the low tier weapons from the game (the rifles from the beginning), explain in the lore that they are a ULTRA secret black ops unit formed by the UN to fight aliens.
Basically, any ERT but with XCOM theme.

This is basically as serious as the bees idea. Although an old school xcom (probably on par with the bureau) ert would be pretty sweet

Re: XCOM ERT
Maybe have an ERT with some XCOM-esq looking armor armed with the PIG, that big ass plasma gun from aliens? PRETTY SURE that's in the lore?

As cool as this would be I don't think it really fits in with the server.
Plus we already have a number of ERT teams, I don't think we need another one.

Rule against adding ERT's. Move to LOCKED and DENIED?
