Change Charlie Squad's Colour To Green

Change Charlie Squad's colour from purple to green, to better differentiate it in-game when standing amongst Delta Squad members, since it can be difficult to differentiate the differences on such small pixels at a glance.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
A green colour will stand out at a greater contrast, making it easier for Charlie and Delta squad members to find where they're supposed to be in clutch moments.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Squad members and squad leaders will have an easier time reading the battlefield, thus improving teamwork on a micro level and improving the overall performance and enjoyment of the game.

B-b-b-but the purple is my favorite color.. I'd rather not see a green squad color get added, just my personal preference though. It'll take a lot of recoloring to turn all of Charlie green (outfits, gloves, floor tiles, etc). And it'd just be strange to see Charlie green after seeing them purple for so long.

But, who knows, maybe the green'll help. Neutral.

Mercs are brown last I checked.

Green would work great since the blue and purple are too close in hue.

Can't think of any colors off the top of my head that would work better tan green.

Depends which merc we are talking about.

Anyway, purple is a legacy from the pre-NE era when we had full colour jumpsuits, nobody played charlie because of the purple And they sort off became a punchline, purple is still ugly even with the new sprites.

Not to burst your bubble but I never have issues telling Charlies and Deltas apart. Green would add to that issue more likely than not.

But in all seriousness I don't honestly don't see how changing it to green, a colour at a stark contrast to the other 3 squads, could be viewed as making things harder to read. Maybe if you're colourblind? But if that were the case I think this would be the least of a colourblind players worries.

The fact that the marine armour is naturally green, it's true however that you could potentially have green stripes instead of purple but that would only cause more confusion then there already currently is, as it would be green on green making it vastly harder to distinguish between (As in the stripe and armour would most likely end up blending into each other making it look like a whole squad either didn't have id's or weren't in a squad.)

The helmet colouring is a dull blue or metal grey, not green. A green line stands our very clearly on it, like the red. The gloves are black, so any colour shows clearly, and the uniform is very lightly coloured so there isn't an issue there either. But regardless of that, your reasoning is flawed anyways. Even if the colours did blend closely with the default uniform (take your ID off when wearing full armour to see what this looks like), that still wouldn't be a problem. It's not about being a power ranger and making sure everyone can see your special shade of pink, it's making it so that you stand at a contrast to the soldiers around you so that everyone can tell who you are and where you're supposed to be. Blue and purple, when dealing with hair-thin strips of pixels, added with shadow and other visual effects, are difficult to tell apart for 90% of the people out there. Stand a Red, Yellow, Green and Blue marine next to each other and there are no mistakes to be made as to who belongs to what squad.

Green is one of the most distinguishable colors to the human eye. So I'm pretty sure this would help a lot.

Sorry, green is also the "base" color we use for all the armor and weapons and such, so I don't think we could effectively use this as a squad color.

I think I spoke to Joshuu in dchat during a round in the past, regarding sprites. So to differentiate Charlie from Delta, I suggested to adjust the hue of the colors instead to make it contrast more visually. Maybe a brighter version of blue for Delta stripes, so it won't blend in so much with the darker helmet and armor colors.

By base colour I'm assuming you mean the colouration when a marine takes his ID off?

There is barely any green present in that colour scheme. The helmet colour is more a blue colour than anything. A rich green colour would stand out (think about the green colour being used in donator tags on the forums).

Also, almost no marine is ever without his ID, so you almost never see a marine in his 'base' uniform without added colouration. So even if the tones were similar (they aren't), it would still serve its purpose of being at a contrast from what the other three squads are coloured as.
