Predator blood trail

Post by qsleepy » 08 Feb 2016, 09:56

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Predator blood trail to make it possible to kill predators as a marine

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

Predators are almost as fast as runners, insane amounts of health, infinite ammo that can crit a marine in TWO shots, and almost invulnerable dog class to help the OP character even more. They should have a blood trail like in the movies that you can follow if you shoot them enough that makes the predator beat fucking feet really far away praying to god the marines stop following him. Right now all you have to do as pred not to die is

1. Not go SSD
2. Stand right outside of marines view, casually walking in and shoot-critting random people because one of them shot at you in the darkness.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
In the movies, the predators were not godlike entities of destruction that could stand in a hail of gunfire for 5 minutes casually exchanging fire with 15+ marines with a fucking dog. They were stealth hunters that waited for their pray to separate from the group. The master hunter predators that hunted like bad-mother fuckers were hunting PREY, not hapless helpless marines trying to fight off an alien invasion surrounded. If you were the toughest pred on the pred ship, you think people would be impressed by trolling groups of marines? No. You'd want that queen head. Just like in the movies. Come the fuck on.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

Already blood trails when you walk through blood pool on the floor, just put in a variable so when the pred hits below a certain health level he leaves a trail behind. Then if you are being a cocksucker and attacking marines because you are too pussy to fight the xeno's queen or t3, when you fuck up and I shoot you six times with the shotgun, you wont be able to just flitter away like cute little dreadlocked-fairy queen to go rejuvenate in 30 seconds, come back and kill 5 marines.

In the movies predators were elite hunters that would often lay down their blasters to melee one on one with humans. It's a sport to them. Being a pussy shooting unarmed marines or terrorizing marines that are already deep in fighting with xeno's isn't difficult or sport unless the pred really gets taken down a couple notches.

They already leave a small blood trail when bleeding. Just look out for green drips of blood.

I shot one 3 times with a shotgun and had another marine with me shooting him countless times with the m4, didn't see any glowy blood. Hmmm.

Well maybe can we up it a bit so it is easier to see or follow maybe? He was still able to disappear almost instantly, we all stopped because we lost him, and he was just stting on the edge of the screem waiting heal, came back and crit-shotted 2 marines then sent in his runner buddies to hug us.

They might've changed it but when I played marine I saw green blood dripping from a invisible predator. I followed the blood and then finished the pred off.

I recently found out Predator Elders get heavy armor, so good luck penetrating it to even SEE blood. But the youngblood armor is lighter and it'll take a fair bit to kill one off.

The one I shot was unbloodied. I got him 3-4 times with the shotgun in less than a minute, and the marine I was with hit him several times with a rifle. I saw blood come out with the shotgun, but not any dripping.

My resolution is kind of small, though.

predators are supposed to be stronk and imbalanced, one two even three marines are not supposed to be able to take out even a single predator, and this is already a thing to boot, when you begin firing at a predator for NO reason, you open yourself to be attacked by them and its your OWN fault you got fucked by it

Predators already bleed, we usually just healed the wound ASAP.

Preds already leave blood-trails if they don't use their alien syringe right away.
