A queen prefrence.

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add a special preference in the menu (Along with alien, survivor, etc) to be the queen.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): This would solve the problem of people arguing over being queen. It'd also feel more cannon having a queen at the beginning.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): No more arguing, no more immediately rushing for the evolve button, and no more people whining about getting beat to the punch. If it seems overpowered to have one at the start, maybe have one person designated to the queen.

- Help people who have no clue what they're doing get a role that's vital to the round.
- Eliminate round-start discussions/arguments, which are actually a decent way to gauge who you're working with as a xeno, if you're the cooperative type.
- Make it a pain in the ass to be a survivor, as the time taken for xenos to decide upon a queen and thereafter have a drone charge enough plasma to become a queen is VITAL to their survival. Every single second that aliens don't have eggs gives survivors much-needed time to prepare, and taking that away will make the role even harder.

I agree about this point. Also if you're the type to rush the evolve button, if your team loses because nobody goes queen, you kinda deserve it anyway. The current system works well enough.

Why not? I hate it when people want to sort it out and a silent drone just comes and becomes Queen. So just make a preference.If you're complaining about Survivors. There's one thing survivors can do. Hide in a damn locker or fortify a damn base. Blocking everything then make another line of walls till your fort is reinforced and you can just stay there. Also the recommended place for a fort is the storage. Many xenos meta the nexus.

I personally think there should be somekind of server playtime database. Then you can just restrict new players from becoming Queen. Like you have to have played for a week or so to become a Queen. There is also a down side when there is low pop. If all the palyers are new nobody can become Queen and etc.
This also might work on marine side with command staff.

Halinder is right. It's better to discuss who is better suited to be queen because you want to know if the player will take the role seriously or not. Someone might just grab the queen role and then charge marines without a proper plan on a whim or whatever irresponsible actions the player might take that end up wasting the role.

Im not sure about this, either way, with this implemented or not, people who cant play the role correctly are gonna manage to get a hold of it, just like if you ready up, or pick commander at the start of a round.

I believe this was discussed and found to be unwanted. Xenomorphs elect a queen at round start to give them some power over who is actually going to do it. It wouldn't really solve anything, as any rando could set their preference to queen and get it.
