Make hatched eggs decay

Post by Reznoriam » 18 Feb 2016, 17:13

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
I'd like to see hatched eggs decay over time similar to how dead facehuggers do currently.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
As it stands hatched eggs are rather annoying, preventing aliens from building anything until they are cleared. There also tends to be large numbers of them due to the number of huggers that the alien team goes through. This would also solve the issue wherein marines cannot remove hatched eggs from reclaimed areas such as the Sulaco hangar.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

+1 I think it's a good idea. Clears hatched eggs and enables marines to actually fully clear an area (Dropship).

+1

The benefits have swayed me to add another opinion: I like this because it will add to immersions. In real life, stuff decays, so why not have the eggs decay as well?

Gonna hijack this to suggest that Flamethrowers destroy eggs instead of just killing those sweet huggy babies.

its become an issue, when your in a hive full of eggs. it becomes hard to tell the deference between those that have been opened/destroyed, and those that contain a hugger.
The slap man also has point, incinerators should burn them away.

+1 Flamers would be able to kill the huggies with the whole boiling of liquids and general melting of intense flame and such and such. Decaying eggs would put a load off of both teams backs.

I would prefer if the hatched eggs can be cleared by marines manually instead, and also +1 to flamers that melt the egg husks.

However, I don't want hatched eggs to decay by itself, simply because it could have some RP value and tactical significance if a marine stumble upon a nest, which the aliens didn't dutifully clean up. Tactical in the sense of backtracking the trail of husks to a bigger hive, or just as a sign that there's possible heavy alien activity in that vicinity.

-1 to auto decay, but +1 to destructible egg husks by marines.

Yeah, first I thought decaying is good, but now I prefer ZDashe's idea.

+1 to either having the eggs auto melt or having the eggs be destructible by melee attacks.
