Safety Guards

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Basically, make guns not fire when on help intent, "safety guards".

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): People would stop shooting each other accidentally while trying to turn somewhere or do something else with an active gun in hand and would also stop Marines from shuffling while in an active firefight that will stop Marines from shooting each other in the back.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): If you're on help intent, the gun will display a message "You pull the trigger, but notice the safety guard is on!" - For people that say "Sometimes you have no time to react!", well, in Real-Life you also need to switch the safety guard off to shoot your gun and sometimes don't have the time to do that.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): You could pull request it from BayStation if you're using a GitHub or basically just take it from BayStation code, because I for sure know that they got this element, I know about the "Just beacuse X does this, doesn't mean we have to do it", but this for sure would greatly benefit our server too.

especially useful when you want to clear the weeds with gun... granted that you make the people able to punch with the gun even though you have the safety guard on.

Wouldn't have to unwield when cutting weeds as to not shoot people.

the license bs12 uses now doesn't allow this

Oh yeah, I forgot that CM is closed source. God damnit. That's one of the bad things of closed source.
Well, if we still want to add this we'd have to find another way or let the coders code themselves. But that should be easy, eh?

Or you know, actually add a toggle-safety verb to the guns.

-1, I feel like it would get really annoying to make sure you aren't in the wrong intent whenever you want to fire, or forgetting to change intent. I like the safety verb idea more since it would be a lot less likely for you to disable your gun by accident.

I personally support this, however there is an old thread about adding a safety to guns (not in the same manner but similar) Here which is just something to think about.

-1 Marines survive on help intent, moving, and shooting! This would make tight areas CANCER at the most, and pretty much fuck the marines day when having to fall back and shoot.

+1 for a verb. that might be good for a test run though. See how the community plays for it.
