Yes marines get explosives, but they all have limited ammo. Xenos on the other hand have stomps and the queen roar, which are far better than the marine stuns (excluding sadar). The xeno AOE stuns also don't have friendly fire. Marine command is usually nonexsistant, while aliens MUST follow queen orders, and there is always a queen, making command much simpler.

One marine stun leads to two or more dead xenos.

The only issue I see with some castes is the mechanics they have.
For example, a crusher smashes 5 marines in the line and stomps while in full momentum, without any speed penalty.
Ravager charging at marine cutting off his limb and sonic backs the same second behind a wall without any speed penalty from the 180° turn.

I think that those are the things we should look after.

Crushers lose momentum the moment they smash into a marine, so it is impossible to smash more than one marine per charge. Stomp removes all momentum when used.
Ravagers are basically the kings of hit and run. They really don't have much else going for them.

As a Doctor, who I play every round I'm not a Xeno, guess what the majority of the things I have to do surgery to fix? Internal bleeding. Bullet shrapnel removal. Broken bones.

Guess where they came from? People who can't aim.

To add more to the ravager case, their damage is crazy, and so is their speed. one of the two needs to be nerfed.

Ravager (450) has slashed at Lisa 'Hotshot' Taylor!
Something feels like it shattered in your right foot!

Your right foot goes flying off!
Something feels like it shattered in your right leg!

This is a charge and one hit. Completely and utterly disabled and critted a marine. With MINIMAL effort.

I've fucked up a charge in the middle of 3 marines, the hugger I had latched on to one and I got away safely. :L
